Kevin04: Warlocks 2: God Slayers has been removed two days ago.
Add it to the list, thank you!
Delisted: "Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer's Legacy"
Wasn't this a game that was initially rejected by GOG, then they went back on the decision? Or the rejection was just about the first one? Or did the dev abandon it here?
Either way, delistings without announcements seem to be increasing in number... (At least Warlocks 2 seems to have been removed elsewhere as well.)
Most likely not for being abandoned, Unexplored 2 actually is (was?) one of those prime examples where the GOG build was kept up-to-date on an almost too regular basis, last update is from the beginning of March.

Wonder what made them pack up and leave.

I have often wondered why the announcement of a removal from the catalog at GOG is not a fixed process in which GOG members are informed, for example, two weeks in advance.

I can only explain it as follows:

1. GOG doesn't work according to processes at all.

2. GOG sees no advantage from the "few" short-term sales and uses the underlying psychological pressure that games could quickly disappear again in order to sell more in total. Especially among passionate gamers who actually have more than enough games in their backlog.

Unfortunately, both options don't create such a nice picture on GOG.

But perhaps there is a completely different and, in a positive sense, understandable reason.

From what I've read, billing with GOG is said to be very time-consuming and complicated. If I'm not mistaken, this also has something to do with the Polish tax system, but I'm really stumped.

If the sales figures are too low and don't justify this effort, then I can understand the developers.

I wish GOG could absolutely minimize the effort for developers/publishers, then there would actually only be licensing reasons to remove a game here.

#1 is quite obvious, in many ways.
I'm thinking of a quite likely #3 being NDAs, for whatever reason. And maybe an even more likely #4, GOG not knowing in advance, possibly being told on short notice that they need to delist, since it's a publisher decision after all. And when it's a matter of a deal being up for renegotiation, even if things don't seem to go well, if the publisher doesn't give a clear no, they can't really know until the end of the current contract whether it'll be extended or not, since things may be hammered through even at the last moment.
But all of that may explain why an advance notice isn't always given, but can't explain why none at all is given, even on the day of the delisting if nothing else is possible.

Yep, I just saw it. And then there ist some "Classic Edition", which seems to be some mix between part one and two, with a little graphically enhacements.
Oh, and all four games are available as a bundle now.

Very excited to see this.
"Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer's Legacy" is back in the catalog.

It was a misunderstanding.

Only the individual games got delisted. The Data East bundles are still there.
