Elmofongo: OK what the hell is going on here. I am surpried they are giving KOTOR 2 the update treatement at all.
And curious that they are doing this the KOTOR 2 instead of the more popular 1.
Is this a sign? Is Obsidian going to make a KOTOR 3?
cogadh: KotOR on mobile happened. When Aspyr ported both games to mobile, they sold unexpectedly well, prompting renewed interest in the PC version. Since much of the functional work to improve the game experience had already been done, Aspyr brought that work, plus enhancements to support TSLRCM to the Steam version which caused an even more unexpected spike in PC sales (hugely unexpected). Whether that might translate to interest in KotOR 3 remains to be seen, but at the moment, all it indicates is an interest in capitalizing on a dormant IP. It didn't cost EA or Disney much to patch the game, so the profits were likely significant.
I forgotten these games are on mobile....must be reallly shitty to play them on your phone :P
