Forget it... I've sent GOG a message (general feedback on the support page) with a collection of the forum's finest insults, threats and other stuff two and a half months ago. I reminded them that their forums are a publicly accessible place and that GOG doesn't look like a nice store with so much hostility around. I suggested that there should be someone responsible for the forums. The result? Nothing. Every single line I sent them is still online. I didn't even get a reply.

GOG doesn't care anymore. Everything was fine when TET was still around, because with him we had some kind of light moderation. The most extreme cases even got banned! But today? Today we have the GamerGate thread, where people scream at each other every single day. Today we have two wankers who openly boast about scamming other users and no one cares. We have Swatkat, the account of a nutter who went mad about lost rep and sold his account to NES. We had a caring user who opened two "ass ass fuck fuck" threads out of sheer desperation, hoping to get GOG's attention... What was the result? GOG implemented a filter for a couple of bad words and threatened to ban us, if we will create more threads with excessive swearing in their titles -.-

This thread locked? Nope. Won't happen.

Thing is,I liked Gunny. He was alright and the IMO,him selling his account because rep was childish(and I mean really). Long were the days where this was a safe heaven of the internet.
BTW,GOG needs some retooling of the entire staff and how they operate because this thing's getting out of hand and it started when TET left,got worse when TW3 and Galaxy were launched and it rottened the site by the Summer Sale.

That's because TET understood what public image meant, and knew how to keep it positive everywhere. Can't say that there's anyone at GOG that does today.

Tauto's post are being removed faster than they can be reported. It's not much and it's not enough but someone up there is listening.

Maybe someone in the GOG offices actually cares about the community more than the bottom line.

The reason why Apehater is being antagonistic is that unfortunately, there has been at least two people on the forums that have been taking advantage of the general goodwill and trusting nature of the GOG forumites.

One seems to operate by scamming people out of games in trades - offer a trade, get the game codes and then simply give gibberish codes in return, that "were legitimately procured, and so, not his problem", then just not answering to any messages or posts ever again, except to protest his innocence. "I'll fix it sometime next week, in the month of Never."

Another one seems to operate by asking for free games in the GA's. If there are giveaway stipulations, i.e. join dates, participation in the forums other than leeching for games, etc. that preclude him, this person throws a hissy fit, and applies his "mad l33t hacker skillz" to negatively downrep every single post in a thread. Hence the massively negative reps on some people. Note a lot of the hugely negative GOGgers are people who have highlighted the identities of the alts this guy is using to downrep people.
This person seems to be spending a large amount of his time creating alts to ask for games, and downrep people he doesn't like and uprep all of his alts. Which is why you no longer see a lot of rep requirements in giveaways now. Rep(utation) is no longer any kind of actual measure of trustworthiness on GOG.
It's principally a circle jerk composed only of alts of himself uprepping himself. (Why he doesn't just watch porn on his computer if he wants to feel good about himself like the rest of the Internet is a question only he can answer.)

Thus, coming to the point of my post, Apehater, having been (and still is, I presume) on the downrepping attack end of the Alt Army, is determined to continue on his mission to investigate and identify the alts. One characteristic is a big jump in rep in only a short time, without any corresponding posts to show how it happened. (See urep jerk circle.)

Oh, and to explain Rep. Rep starts at zero. you gain a point every day you post. You gain 5 points if you answer a question. If your post is liked by a lot of people, you will gain more rep points, and vice versa - I'm not sure how many likes or dislikes equals a rep point, though.

I'm sorry you were tarred by the alt brush, even if only for a while. It's just that the forums are infested with alts at the moment, and there doesn't seem to be any inclination on the part of GOG themselves to lay down any alticide - which means self-policing by forum volunteers.

For my part, because of the negativity and hostility that the alts bring here, I've been lurking more and posting less. I mean, if you can't trust the nameless, faceless poster on an Internet hobby forum, who can you trust?!
