I've only done 1 or 2 giveaways and each time have done it as a little competition type thing so if someone really wants the game they will participate with an entry or if I have a code for something I will if you want it PM me to stop it being just grabbed for the sake of it. Always prefer stuff to go to members of the community that participate.

it wasn't until recently :-(

It isn't. It's all about 1 person.

SimonG: I don't see the problem. Giveaways are usually a reward for the community being so great. To be part of that community takes a bit of time.

GOG is not a lottery where everybody should come in and grab games.

langurmonkey: But 4 months? You can be a soldier in the U.S. Army after basic training which is around two months but you can't be a member of the GOG community after two months? 20 rep usually takes 1 month of being active. Do you really think most people are going to create 100 ALTs and then be active with each one for a month to make sure they always win the free games? I don't think there are that many people in this world insane enough to do that.
Only 2 months? I had a 5 month basic training :P
Who are you to say anyone how to conduct their giveaways? 100 rep is excellent, shows that people are active and really participating in the community. One of the best examples for alts was during the awesome witcher2 giveaway where there was painfully obvious that newly made users came out of woodwork so they can get a shot at winning free games. That was low and disrespectfull to the person hosting the contest.

Basic training is around 2 months but after that, you get additional training in the U.S. Army. How much additional training and what kind of additional training depends on a soldier's MOS. Who am I? I"m me. Not my giveaways, sure but I have a right to say to tell them they are being unreasonable. It's not like, I am ordering these people not to have 100 rep as a requirement. I'm just sharing my thoughts.

Someone else claimed they were scammed by a regular user.
good to know, you still don't have any right to condemn anyone for their way of running giveaways.

Do you also complain when someone gifts a game to one of his/her buddies? What gives you the right to tell other people what they can/can't do with their own stuff? If a guy wants to run a giveaway that's only available for people whose screen names start with a certain letter, so what? How does that hurt you?

I am a living being on this earth, therefore if I feel like sharing my thoughts with others, I will. If you don't like it, just ignore me. I'm not telling people how to run their giveaways. I'm telling them that they are being unreasonable if they have a 100 rep requirement. There is a difference. Who am I to tell people their unreasonable? Well who the fuck are you to talk back to me? This a forum. People here share will their thoughts with each other on everything. Deal with it.

Not really. There was a guy who ran a competition for people who registered in a certain year only. It's up to the person to come up with their own rules when doing the giveaway, and nobody else has any right to be entitled.
Fuck, this place gets worse every minute (!).
It used to be so nice.

Yeah, it's up to the person to come up with their own rules. But I have the right to tell them they are being unreasonable. So until some law comes out that makes that illegal, enough of this shit. Freedom of speech, ever heard of it?

langurmonkey is saying that it's his opinion and you can ignore him or not he has every right to express pretty much however he wants to, free speech and all that.

I'm not saying you aren't allowed to show that you feel someones rules are unfair, but i dont feel that someone's giveaway rules would be unreasonable. Think about it. They dont have to give anything away, but they do it for others. It's just that sometimes, there are rules such as "please dont enter if you have this game already".....
