It is true, there are a lot of free games out there but most of them, aren't as good as the games that cost money. A lot of the free games also restrict you to a point where you have to spend money in order to enjoy the game. A good example of this is the free to play Stronghold game.

I know where you are coming from, but i still don't agree with you. Games are not essential goods. This is a matter of fact. Let me give you an example. I really want to play Dishonored, but i just can't afford it at full price right now. Do you know what i will do? I'll just wait for a sale. I can wait, it won't kill me, there's no need to beg for a free copy or to download a pirated version. Now, if i'm starving and need food, then i can't wait. It's a matter of survival. It's ludicrous to compare games to these essential goods.

Like hedwards already said, we have reached a point where it isn't even necessary to pay for games anymore. There are plenty of high quality free titles. Seriously, the good free games alone are enough to give you years of enjoyment.

By the way, i think that if you could afford a PC and an internet connection, i'm pretty sure you can buy a U$2,39 or a U$5 game on a Steam/GOG promo once in a while.

You can wait for Dishonored because you already have a lot of good games to play, right? Imagine if you didn't have any games or just one or two games. I don't like most of the free games out there and I'm sure some people in this world don't like most of the free games, out there too. So not possible for people like me and them to get years of enjoyment from these free games. If you have one or two games, how long will those games last you? Not so long.

Stronghold is a bad example, don't generalize it. There are plenty of games that are fun even if you don't pay for it. The ones that come to my mind are DC Universe, DDO, LOTR Online, Tribes Ascend, Planetside 2, Team Fortress 2, DOTA 2.

Yeah, if you can afford a PC and internet connection, you can buy your own games. But what about the people who are using internet connections, other people are paying for? Example, your mom or dad"s internet connection. What about the people who purchased their PCs, back when they could buy things? What about people who have PCs because generous people gifted PCs to them? Having a PC and having access to the internet doesn't automatically mean someone often sprinkles diamonds on their food, so their shit sparkles. :)
I think you just listed the only good free games, in my opinion. You can't expect those games to last someone for a really long time. And what if they just aren't into those games?

So you're telling me that there are people who own a decent PC, pay a monthly fee for intertnet connection and can't afoord for a 2 or 5 dollars games once in a while? I'm sorry, but i just don't buy it. Console games are still kind of expensive, but PC games are cheaper than a hamburger nowadays. And what about the millions of pay-what-you-want indie bundles? No, I'm not saying people who pay monthly for an internet connection can't afford games. And in order to get one of those pay what you want indie bundles, you need a credit card or a paypal account of etc. You can't just search your couch for some quarters, some dimes and buy one of those pay what you want indie bundles.

By the way, the scammer here has 140 games on his main Steam account. Unless he got those 140 games by scamming people, which is unlikely, he's full of BS when he said that he is poor and everything. And surprisingly, he hasn't even ran most of these games. Don't pitty him, he's just an asshole, he doesn't need these games.

Yeah, he is an asshole. If you have 140 games(unless all those games suck but I doubt it in his case), you have enough entertainment to last you half your lifetime, so then it doesn't matter if he is poor, middle class, rich, wealthy etc

Well, i have 2 credit cards myself and i don't pay any kind of fee for them. It isn't really that hard to get an international credit card where i live, and that's a 3rd world country (banks usually give you one if you open a bank account). Again i don't agree with you.
We are actually talking about the need to beg for games on the forum, which i am totally against. Of course there's NOTHING to justify scamming people. Even if that Anasto guy was as poor as he claimed to be (he actually isn't), it still doesn't justify it.
