I only posted once on the classifieds on a whim, but i don't really trade. Still, someone has impersonated me. So be warned i guess.Someone on the forums (thanks a lot!) sent me a warning that i was being impersonated. Here is a picture: http://imgur.com/OIm5i. I literally just started using this site this month, why impersonate me? Well, whatever the case, there you go. Thanks again to the awesome forum member who sent me the warning.

Great, the more votes the better :)
Found this on YouTube the other day:

My Hacker is Going to Jail

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlRUmSaJG5g

I watched it through and, yep, kept thinking "Why was this guy such an idiot?" I mean, creating a "relationship" with your hacker??? :)

But, what's very interesting is the Wired article he linked to from his video, about his hacker finally getting arrested - in a big way, by the FBI :)

http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/09/cosmo-the-god-who-fell-to-earth/all

I don't think these twats that steal from other people on the Internet actually realize you could end up with a 10 year jail term, and the feds are pretty good at finding you.

That's a great idea - only a genius could have come up with it!

LOL j/k. Not sure if you saw my post, but thank you for making the wishlist item!

np, I did see the idea mentioned somewhere in the forum, but I didn't see it specifically listed on the wishlist so I added it.
Is it a dumb idea to make a thread where people can announce that he/she does not trade at all? I mean, I don't trade game codes (I don't end up with spares since I don't buy these bundles) so if someone sees a trade from a name that looks like mine, it's definitely scam or scamola.

It is indeed a good idea, but it should have a list which is constantly updated. Just hope that the arguing seen on the first few pages won't appear again

gameon: I cant find any JCDbionicman posts.
avatar
SimonG: That's because he was spelled

"JCD-Bionicman"

In his defence, he did eventually calm down a bit with the political rhetoric and limited his nonsense to asking silly questions.

irawesome eventually admitted that his account was a sockpuppet account for a bet with a friend of his that he could troll the GOG forums. I think it was $40.

You have to bear in mind that many of these hackers come from dysfunctional circumstances and any attempt to bring these bring into normal social lives is a worthy one. Many of these hackers are just angry kids who have been massively emotionally neglected by their parents, suffer from problems at school, often being bullied.

Connecting with them on a personal level is the first step in making them realise that their actions are not just sport, their actions do have consequences that do affect people.

True, but unfortunately as many of them have years of neglect and abuse behind them they're not particularly able to create relationships. One wrong word from you, and your hacking situation could end up being a lot worse.

I worked for years for an organization for abused girls and with some it was simply impossible to make much headway as the abuse had been ongoing since birth. There are some people who will never change, as I sadly learned during my couple of decades managing non-profit organizations, and that is a lot of the hackers IMO. They think it's 'cool' to do this and get off on the accolades of their buddies. It only all comes crashing down in many cases when they're finally put in jail.

I do think however the government should be hiring a lot more hackers to help prevent the hacking of government systems. Some of these kids know a lot more than the "IT specialists" the government already has. Why not make it 'cool' to actually do something beneficial. After all, it's recognition most of these kids want. Why not give it to them legally? :)

Some wounds are just too deep to heal.
I was browsing the Steam forums for help on their buggy beta and found this thread , http://forums.steamgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2984614 .

Looks like Anasto is still worried about things and has already been identified there as a scammer.

This is starting to look like he is going to get caught by Steam and be banned for what he is doing. He is kind of making out that it is him getting scammed by users here when we all know different.

Hopefully Steam will be able to trace this back to him and his dupe accounts
