so after this twist with deepdig got quiet again:

yesterday a witchhunt started and i was the witch.

i'm not some alt account of a scammer, this ist my account since i joined gog.com.

its not ok throwing dirt on my account, without proof. and i havent seen any proof, just some fast reactions full of hate and pseudo arguments.

especially the fast and stupid start by amund who seems to think his ethics are the best and everyone have to follow them, this applies not only to him.

and then of course BillyMaysFan59, who without the situation was clear, without proof or just making a search about me on this forum, fastly warned the people on the trading thread (already edited away, but i have seen it):

this fact alone shows that this was a witch hunt otherwise he wouldnt edit it away, i think in the same hour after posting, so very quick.

that cant be it, in a so called great community and also dont do this with me again.

if you are suspecting me in any thing ok, but come up with it when you have the proof and not before, like the situation was with deepdig.

this post applies to the all people (post or quitly just thinking it) participating in the yesterdays witch hunt againts me.

To be honest I didn't really get involved in the drama but I read a lot of it, and I don't think the issue was accusing you of being a scammer. I think it was entering lots of givaways and lurking around code drop threads yet not giving anything back to the community.

Again that is just what I gleaned and could be wrong and I am not observant or arsed enough to notice patterns in your forum activity, just trying to help you understand what it was all about. x x

Edit : and there was one thing about you winning a giveaway and using it as trade leverage which is kind of a moral taboo but again I didn't see this and it was just allegedly observed and posted. Again I don't think there were any scamming accusations.

Calm down man, I'm just trying to help you understand what was said last night, I'm not accusing you of shit. You said you were witchunted as a scammer and I'm trying to say people weren't accusing you of scamming but the less serious misdemeanour's of general dishonourable behaviour.

I didn't see a thread about you being thrown into the same category as deepdig which even assuming the accusations are correct is still completely wrong as deepdig is an admitted scammer, and I was saying what I gleaned from what was said about you not being a good member.

I am not personally saying anything but it is common knowledge you enter a giveaway every now and then, fine. You enter a giveaway most days, ok fair enough. You enter most giveaways and lurk around code drop threads and you never give anything back that kinda sucks. You enter a few givaways and occasionally drop a code here and there or maybe do your own giveaway every other month then brilliant :D . This is just a generalization of ettiquette and manners really more than anything.

Again I am not personally saying you are a leach as I haven't investigated but that is what I was saying is implied just to try to help you understand as you seem upset. I am a proverbial fence sitter and confrontation and negativity brings me out in a rash, its just who I am.

I kind of regret posting that tho help you understand that you weren't straight up being accused of scamming but whatever it is done now.

If it makes you feel any better I didn't downrep you at any point as I don't think you are a scammer and don't have the time to look into if you are a leech either.

Personally, I think a good member is one who participates in the forums by engaging others in topical threads, assisting those that have questions about this or that, and/or posting relevant gaming information that others would enjoy. I think many others would be in agreement. I try to do a little bit of everything as I enjoy the camaraderie this forum has to offer.

What makes a bad member? One that does none of the above, but instead, takes everything the forum has to offer and leaves nothing in return. (this is by no means directed at you, but an overall statement)

No, YOU are proclaiming what a good guy you are how it's a witch hunt. The problem is, you have almost nothing to back YOUR side... just excuses and denials.
Attempting to switch the discussion to me doesn't do much toward making YOUR case. In fact, it really just strengthens the case against you.

I resisted the urge to pile onto you and spoke more or less generally, but since you strive to proclaim how unfairly targeted you are I figured we needed to clear the air with some actual numbers. I even added that you GAVE 4... which makes you less of a villain than some others around here.

Maybe instead of howling how unfair it is, just change your behaviors? Others on here have tried to give you some worthy advice, but you choose instead to attempt to be a martyr.

It's not pseudo arguments, it's common sense that you should only take as much as you realyy need. Most people take a game, say "thank you!", play it and when they completed it (which often takes weeks), they take the next one. You took 14 games in 18 games (in just one thread). How many of these did you really play and how many did you complete?

Don't get me wrong, talking all these games doesn't make you a scammer, but it makes you look like a greed bastard. And most people don't like greedy bastards.

My suggestion for the future: Look at the games and before you ask for them, think twice if you really want to play them.

well in my opinion this dont applies to a drop thread where you have to be quick, of course i take only games that i want or for my brother. also i dont trade the games:

i havent entered all giveaways just the ones where conditions match and i'm interested in the game and i have won 3 of these giveways.

Just because you can, doesn't always mean you should. Others are suggesting a little self-restraint for those who may enjoy a game too. I think that's about as simple as one could put it.

so this is a fake generiosity, pretend an open giveaway and then afterwards say you have to much why did you enter.

the whole discussion shows now, that for some members here a good member should giveaway games if he takes otherwise he is a piece of shit, even he actively participate on the forum. again i havent seen xckx state something like: if you had a game this month, than you dont recieve more. he dont cares and i havent done something bad by taking game drops!!

The generosity is real. I was trying to put it another way that others have been hammering earlier. You don't have to agree with it. I'm just putting it out there.

You're looking at it from the wrong angle. No one's saying there's an unwritten rule in those giveaways. It's an attitude that they're talking about. It's the attitude of "I'll enter and take, take, take". That's what they're talking about.

For the record, I don't give a shit how many contests you enter or how many dropped codes you take, and you're welcome to enter any of my giveaways if the game interests you. I have no issue with you whatsoever. Just trying to clear up the misunderstanding.
