ZFR: Well, I just realized this game is on GOG (and has its own dedicated, though rather empty, forum).

It seems that the Sunray Tower on level 9 (apparently it can be powered up by purchasing up to 4 mages) is not available on the steam version. Is it available on GOG by any chance?
I think it was there, but I am not 100% sure, it was some time ago that I played it. I still might have it installed, if I remember this when I am home I'll have a look.

Thanks
"Final" level beaten. I see multiple paths now. Nice.
I officially give up and reduce difficulty to Easy. Too frustrating otherwise.

No, it was removed from the GOG version too. Too bad, it was pretty fun on the flash version.

BTW, I still can't beat Moloch for anything. It's the only level I can't beat. I refuse to drop the difficulty level to easy, lol.
... and I'm back to Normal.

Easy was too easy. However I replayed the level on Normal using same tower formation and it was a piece fo cake.

Sometimes all you need is a slightly different strategy. But It's way too frustrating to have to replay a whole level.

This game is weird.

Good!
Yes the 'boss' is nothing compared to the bosses that show up afterwards. They really require proper setting out without error.

Prepare for frustration, but never give up.

Oh and the last last boss, I'll just call the devil, is the pinnacle of frustration. Cheers :)

I am actually open to suggestion.

I can get him down to about 40% health at best.

Finished all the levels on Normal except for this one. And I haven't reached the boss yet. Those 2 cerebruses (cerebri?) get me. I manage to get the first one but the second seems unstoppable. I just restart after them I can probably try and finish it anyway, but I want those 3 stars.
Done!

Ironically, after I gave up trying to get 3 stars and just wanted to finish the mission, I managed to kill the 2 cerebri farily easily and then towards the end... lost 5 lives to silly things which I could have avoided easily.

The final boss wasn't that tough as bosses go. The trick was to keep him occupied in strategic positions (purple mage towers + tesla towers) as long as possible with the hero and/or reinforcements (I used the demon samurai one). Also if you build sharpshooters on the upper side passages then they can have the upper middle passage where the boss comes in range and their one-shot-one-kill can be useful.

The final legions had me worried a moment but I got meteor shower just in time.

15 lives left 2 stars. All others 3 stars. All finished on Normal. The first 5 campaign levels were also done in Heroic and Iron.

I'm leaving this for now because if I play one more day I'll be seeing the stuff in my sleep. It was fun, but lots of micromanagement required and some levels were brutal. If I'm feeling bored, or masochistic, some day I might try to get that one missing star from last level and maybe complete the Heroic and Iron. Perhaps even *gulp* Hard difficulty.

Thanks all who helped here, and a big thank you to Slaugh for getting me the game.

Hey well, you're actually a lot further than me, then! I think I only have 85 stars or so. Plenty of levels are not 3-star, and the 2nd-to-last level I've only beaten with 1 life left, ha ha!

I've started it up again because of this thread. We'll see if I can get any further.
So after finishing this I thought I'd try something relaxing this time. How about the nice simple platformer I got last sale...

VVVVVV

Bad idea. If I don't post on these forums in the near future it's becaues I'd be shopping for a new monitor.

Holy crap. Did it take you two hours like all the YouTubers?

Chalk this game up on my "never ever ever ever" list.

An 1:30 - 2:00 I'd say. Took me three sessions.

That feeling when you finally do it... Amazing.

After some time the first part at least is all muscle memory. The moment you start thinking about it you screw up.

EDIT:
Just noticed the game has an in-built timer. After rescuing 2 more people and finishing the tower and Prize for Reckless trinket I'm at 2:10. So Veni Vidi Vici must have taken me less than an hour. 45-50 mins by the looks of it :)
