Do we get to keep Gwent when it leaves the beta period? Just curious.
Even if the beta gets removed you can simply add the final to your library as soon as it is out. The game will be free to play after all.

Not really.. (yet anyway) you can get new cards pretty easy and quickly and it really doesn't take much to get a decent deck.
I've done quite well so far without spending a penny on it, and I don't particularly intend to either.
The online game would be F2P, the single player campaign would cost money.

Why do you think single player will cost money? :)
Damn this game. I don't care for it and never collect the cards so not sure if that causes it to be harder, seems like the computer always gives the enemy better cards. I'm playing the Hearts of Stone quest and had to play Gwent against those halflings during the wedding. Kept loosing and had to reload for almost two hours to finally beat them. Then I played against the prick in the auction house and beat him on the first try.

PS. I can't believe people actually paid money for this clumsy DLC. I hope I get a chance to kill that mage, he's really pissing me off. If not I want my money back or something for putting me through this obnoxious quest.

Remember to visit every now and then. It gives certain bonuses. Last time i checked, it gave me a Witcher 1 gift code and in-game credit (or whatever this thing is called), for Gwent!

Because I'm pretty sure this was stated by CDPR on their forum (or in an online article)? I read this somewhere...

I don't know, I had that impression too... but I seem to remember reading it would be 'episodic' or something similar (and assumed that meant paid for DLC).

Perhaps some of it is free (first episode) and then you have to buy the rest? Or we've just jumped to conclusions about it being paid?

Maybe, but that's not what they said on their forums nor what the media is reporting...

Also I'm again reminded just how much better their forums are over there. Sigh.
Is that original cyberchief?

Hmm, hadn't seen that. It does seem pretty clear, but also conflicts with what I'd seen about it being episodic (he said you will pay once for it) so not sure if it's a change of direction or what. I'll have to try and dig out wherever I saw the episodic thing and see if that was official or not.

I guess I wasn't following the topic carefully, thanks for the link. :)
