It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

HERE is wishlist entry, if you want to vote for keeping GOG DOWNLOADER alive::

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/keep_the_gog_downloader_and_keep_it_up_to_date

We GOG users want lite (c++) application for easy downloading in background, stop forcing us BROWSER based (javascript = CPU/GPU hungry )(chromium) clients
-----------------------

Just for info::

GALAXY 225MB+
VS
Good Old GOG DOWNLOADER 2MB!!!

EDIT:: for simpletons , it is NOT about how much it takes HDD space,
but it shows HOW MUCH CODE is needed for this task
and HOW MUCH BLOATWARE is included in galaxy client...

Do we REALLY need 5 threads on this?

Maybe.... If there's enough demand maybe GoG will reconsider it's stance (though i doubt it)

Maybe, but making multiple threads on this scatters the talk on such instead of focusing it in one place, possibly hampering their efforts by dividing talk across multiple threads.

Plus, all that's said here adds no new angle to the topic at hand, and the link was already posted in a few other threads....making this thread somewhat redundant.

There is nothing wrong with browser downloads. If you don’t like chromium, use Firefox. I have always downloaded that way and never had any problems. So I am not against keeping downloader, just don’t say “us users” as if all of us want to use it, I would never use it,or galaxy.

Yes there is : several files to DL per game instead of just one click to get it all, pause/resume being pretty iffy, can't chain several DL (it's all concurrent).

If I wanted to get, for example, Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2 and Kingdom Comes Deliverance, I needed only to click on three links with the GOG Downloader, and I could pause and resume with a single click. Basically, I click three times, then I can forget it until it's done.
With web browser download, I have about twenty different files to manage, I have to check regularly to see if the specific file I'm DL is finished and I can start the next one or not, pausing is less reliable and it's basically micromanagement annoyance.

I think you need to edit your post here because it sounds like you are trying to speak for everyone which is frowned upon. Also not all users share the same opinion as you.

The horror. Imagine having to click a few times. Just use galaxy then, you only have to mash one button.

Or just use Steam anyway and fuck GOG already?? or back to torents...
GOG was better because of one of this critical "features"
They had already more then half job done, why throw it away and piss lot of users?

and you still not get it, 2MB VS 225MB or hungry unreliable webbrowser. or unreliable thirdparty app.
The old mods have the capability to merge redundant thread. Our new community ones should do the same if needed.
Many thanks. This doesn't replace the GOG Downloader but it helps to mitigate some of the most obnoxious annoyance about the multiple-files download management.

One annoyance is having to manually move the files to correct game directories. I don't see fredownloadmanager doing this, or I haven't found how to make it recognise some path info (when using a browser, all different games' downloaded files go to the same directory).

So, for a shamefully large library (I've supported GOG with more than a thousand purchases, how ridiculous - I consolate myself imagining that most of this money paid the salary of more decent employees from a more decent era), I don't think there's an alternative to gogrepo. Until someone makes a windows version of Lgogdownloader (what an idea).

Love seeing the support for Downloader. Wishlist entry steadily growing. Reconsider bringing it back, GOG.
