Sakura Season begins on GOG.com with games up to 75% off!

Welcome to Japan! It's a quite enchanting, slightly bizarre, and totally fascinating place - plus it's absolutely beautiful during the cherry blossom season! We've found a pretty convenient way to get spirited away there and take you with us: through the magic of videogames. Everything in this Kawaii Sale has been touched or inspired by those unique Japanese sensibilities we've grown to love and is up to 75% off.

It's not just the extravagant haircuts, expressive eyes, or colorful creatures - there's something timeless about these games that always makes us feel young at heart.
Grandia II Anniversary Edition is a prime example of an archetypical jRPG whose charms never fade. When Gaming Nexus reviewed the game, they concluded that "this updated re-release is a testament to how much fun a well-crafted turn-based role-playing game can be."

Less epic, but definitely not less memorable, Hatoful Boyfriend made IGN admit that "it has a strange premise and though it embraces that weirdness fully, it is able to surpass the label of silly dating sim by presenting interesting themes and characters through strong writing".

Are you a fan of narrative-driven, turn-based fantasy? Then you'll love The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky! RPGFan described it as "a slow-paced but charismatic RPG with an incredibly well-crafted world and characters".

As always, there's more – including up to 75% off Corpse Party, Way of the Samurai 4, and Xanadu Next. Plus, stay tuned for new games and deals this Friday!

The Kawaii Sale will last until February 27, 5PM UTC.

Why no sale for Neptunia series? Isnt it japanese either, or what?
Actually, they are probably missing from this sale because of the "Join the Console War" sale that happened when Rebirth 2 & 3 were added to the catalog. (Which wasn't that long ago. Still would like to see the spin off series games and Megadimension here though.)

For me, I only had 4 things from this sale that I could buy. (I have everything else already.) We need some more Japanese made games here. (Come on GoG, I know you want some more money.) ;)

GOG needs some Japanese games for second turn on friday :P

JudasIscariot: I can definitely recommend Way of the Samurai 4 from personal experience with the game :D
Yet still no screenshots.

Sarang: Oh and regarding the previous sale to GOG members, could you please not have titles number up $6.66? I would've bought "Shadowrun: Hong Kong Extended" if it was $6.65 or $6.67 instead.
Is that *really* an issue? Is there a reason you have trouble with that particular price point?

By the way, for anyone who likes classic Wizardry games (1-5, excluding 4 (of course)), I highly recommend Elminage Gothic.
While I understand that this selection isn't for everyone, I did get some games off of my wishlist.

Only because of Melinda Megamelons.... admit it.

It seems that GOG knows what "Kawaii" means! Does this indicate that we can hope for more anime/manga specific content like visual novels and such? :D
I'd rather play western games in Japanese that these expensive titles without even the Japanese language.
low rated
Happy about this sale. It safes me a lot of money since i despise the anime and jap crap. Makes me wonder why this shit is so popular with gamers, then again, i guess virgin pedophiles need stuff like this to jerk off without breaking any laws ;)

Maybe GOG thinks those are not so much "kawaii" but rather "moee"... ^ ^

(But yeah, bring 'em on GOG!!!)

phaolo: Those LoH: Trails in the Sky games have quite good ratings everywhere :O

huan: And quite deserved. Awesome story.
Yeah, the turn based combat is somewhat slow paced (So the fact that most combats are avoidable and grinding is unnecessary are good things), but the story and characters are very nice, if you're into positive heroes (as I am)

And the actual story is linear, but looooong, especially the second game. When many RPGs prefer the "short story with a gazillion sidequests" model, the focused experience of TitS was refreshing.

What do you mean? I can see plenty of screenshots on the pages for WotS4 and its DLC?

It would be great to be able to switch language in-game on the fly.
For example, in anime I usually prefer the original dub, but sometimes I fed up and switch to english (briefly, if it isn't great).

I grew up being raised as a Christian so that number STILL makes me uncomfortable.
