Since Crysis is 10 years old this year I figured I'd post this.
Many people probably already know how to do this.
Go into the Crysis game folder and find the difficulty files named: diff_bauer.cfg, diff_easy.cfg, diff_normal.cfg, diff_hard.cfg.
They will be located in the following path under the game's install folder: game/config.
Open the files with a text editor and modify the following fields as follows:
g_suitArmorHealthValue = 100.0 , change this to 200.0
g_playerHealthValue = 200.0 , change this to 400.0
*Do not alter any other values in the difficulty files as that will drastically change the game balance.
When Crysis first came out it bacame apparent that the armor mode is perhaps not as effective as it could have been
and, in order to address this, the developer released patch 1.2 where they changed the damage of the weapons.
Here is the quote from the patch notes.: "* Increased damage of most player-fired weapons and decreased damage of most AI-fired weapons."
Unfortunately the patch ended up increasing the damage of AI weapons even further and it is now at the point that
the player almost dies the instant that they are seen which forces you to use cloak almost exclusively. If you have a version 1 copy of the game you can check out the difference between the patched and unpatched version for yourself.
Crysis Warhead has the correct values for enemy weapons.
While we cannot change the enemy weapon values to their intended levels we can tweak the health values of the player so that it closely mirrors Crysis Warhead .
Note that this will not turn you into a tank, it will simply prevent a single enemy from immediately gunning you down and will make more aggressive gameplay a viable option, which is what I believe the intention of patch 1.2 was.
