Hello everyone!

We're trying to find where the old-school TURN-BASED roguelike community lurks, and this inquiry led me also here :).

Jupiter Hell is the spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed Doom the Roguelike, but with every feature dialled up to 11. It features modern 3D graphics, a heavy metal soundtrack, and the voice artistry of Mark Meer (aka Commander Shepard of Mass Effect).

Jupiter Hell is aiming to get a new generation hooked on the hardcore roguelike formula. Combining traditional gameplay with modern look and feel, it is a game that can appeal to both long-term roguelike players and new gamers that have embraced the likes of X-COM.

But we need your help in achieving this goal, and for that purpose we launched a Kickstarter campaign. With crowd-funded contributions we can secure development of what we hope will be a mind-blowing roguelike game unlike any other that has come before.

Help us out on Kickstarter!
Jupiter Hell - a modern turn-based sci-fi roguelike (Kickstarter)

If you have any questions about the game or the kickstarter, do not hesitate to ask!

at your service,
Kornel Kisielewicz

Been following this project for a while. Have you guys decided anything yet on the character system, will there be different skills and stuff?
My power level is acceptable for posting links, so here is:

*snap* * snap*

NOOooo! My power! My destiny! Gone!

Yes, there will be an update on that soon! The short version is classes, with perk trees, where each perk has a immediate impact that the player can feel. E.g. different attack possible instead of barely visible +3% to damage. Perks also substitute traditional skills, so e.g. to wear Titan Armor, you must unlock the requisite perk, to do hacking you must invest in the hacking perk subtree.

Thanks Titanium!
Edit: Seems as my power level has risen enough :)

Maxvorstadt: Oh, a sequel to the Alien Shooter games?
Turn based.
So no, not even remotely. :P

It looks like Alienshooter and from what I saw on Kickstarter, there is no real turn based combat, the turns are invisible.

As invisible as they would be in any roguelike I guess?

One key press, one action. If you don't press keys, nothing happens. However, if you start mashing them really fast, the animation system blends all actions together. The system was designed so you never wait for a animation to finish if you don't want to.

Unfortunately it seems we did our job of making everything very smooth and fluid a bit too well :/.

I'll be streaming in 10-15 minutes on Twitch if you want to see what I mean exactly.
If I contribute to the KS, can you guarantee (or at least try your hardest) to have the game released here on GOG?

I`ll be there. :-)
Backed. The name Kornel Kisielewicz and the term "spiritual successor to Doom, the Roguelike" was all I needed. :)
Here`s the wishlist entry:

Was an interesting stream. Never saw a developement stream before.
Look aight, more roguelite than roguelike IMO though.
