Serren: Disagreeing with someone on a single point, or even outright disliking them, doesn't mean you have to disagree with them on everything.
Good point. I can enjoy a game while disagreeing with certain design decisions the developers made, for example.

If only people could apply this reasoning to a certain *other* topic, which I will not mention here because it has led to uncivil discussion and locked topics on this forum (and likely on others).

babark: Also, so many of you turn out to be so old. Don't you have jobs and stuff? How come you're on here all day?! :D
I'm at work right now. :P

Just checked in three couples and booked four rooms for late September.

babark: Wish I had the courage to take a 3DS to a nightclub (If I had one).
If you had a nightclub you could take anything you'd want there.

If I had a nightclub, I'd use it to beat up the bad guys when they were sleeping
Oooh, Harry is a Virgo like me!

Just watch out for its enchantment; the Blind when strikes enchantment will cause the bad guys to go blind, and it will become easier for them to hit you. So watch out for that!

Also, I believe that club, for whatever reason, won't work on bad *girls*. Don't know why, but that seems to be the way it works.

Gentleman's Club: only usable by males
Broad Sword: only usable by females

morolf: I googled this...you're a Harry Potter fan????
Why do adults think it's okay to be a fan of that? A few years back when Harry Potter was a thing, I often saw people on public transport reading those books, and they didn't even change the covers or try to hide it was Harry Potter. Weird!
If it's a nostalgia thing from when one was a child or a teen, it's understandable. However, if you were over (and the age for this is somewhat arbitrary, but let's say) 21 when it originally came out, then the cringe factor is increasing. Not to mention the whole infantilization of adults thing, but we won't go there today.

morolf: Would you say the same if someone cited Hitler?
Anyway, even J.K.Rowling has criticised C.S.Lewis for the Susan character:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Pevensie#Criticism
There comes a point where Susan, who was the older girl, is lost to Narnia because she becomes interested in lipstick. She's become irreligious basically because she found sex. I have a big problem with that.

I also have big problem with Susan character. She was right there.

Serren: “Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”
― C.S. Lewis

An utterly cynical move on his part to sell more books.

Maighstir: Gentleman's Club: only usable by males
Broad Sword: only usable by females
Don't forget the Special Trident: Not usable by males or females, and only usable by those who don't belong to either category.

Also, that particular trident is actually quite powerful, as it triples the effect of non-attack actions (for example, instead of defending reducing damage by 50%, it reduces it by 150%, resulting in attacks actuallly healing the wearer during that time).
Okay, I hate to ruin a good time, but it's no longer July 31st, his birthday is over. Lets wrap this up.

Today is August 1st, Joe Elliot's birthday. Someone make a thread about that, and we'll all talk about what an amazing album Pyromania is until someone comes in and tells us that rock 'n roll is for children and we should all be embarrassed for listening to it. :P

That's a very flimsy straw man you got there. But I do agree that July 31st is sooo yesterday.
I liked the HP books, but I have to say I didn't like it's treatment of magic much, it just rips out any mystery magic could have had and reduces it to the wand being a gun and the spells being bullets (which is why I'm suprised their was never a HP first-person shooter).
