Orkhepaj: I don't get why a store needs a twitch channel, pls enlighten me
Because streaming on Twitch is the hip thing to do for the millennial generation. They love it for some reason.

I, however, find the act of watching other people play video games to be about as 'fun' as watching paint dry.

I still think it's a good idea for GOG to do stuff like this Twitch steaming anyway though, since that's the kind of thing which a huge segment of the current video game market customers are interested in.

Although I'm not sure if that also translates into GOG's customer base specifically. I would guess that maybe it doesn't, since most GOG users are probably not millennials.

I have the same excitement watching others play , why when you could just play the game yourself.
Best is when they make these twitch drops , yeah then it runs in the background muted :D

Dunno GoG doesn't offer much for kids, they usually play with multiplayer shooter games.
If they want them to use gog then bring in some of those games. Not even minecraft is here :I

As with so many things GOG does, and has been doing for a while now, it's not about the customer base they have - it's about the customer base they want to have.

ReynardFox: Regardless of my personal issues with Twitch, seeing GOG run a promo that requires signing in to a third party website (snip)
You can watch all our Twitch streams without being signed into Twitch if that's what you meant.

David9855: I bet hes just jealous
If he suddenly got Famous himself as a streamer and started to make lots of money
i dont think he woud say no to that, so hes probably being a hypocrite
But some of the streamers mentioned i havent heard about before though with the exception of Jessie Cox.

Passive aggressive fanboyism blah blah blah.

I wouldn't stream even if I could make money from it because I'm not interested in playing games on stream, so that settles that.

Gog streamers actually make money from the channel if I recall correctly through subscription sales, tips and a percentage of games they sell via some sort of link, so they are in fact paid by gog but not as employees; in some countries under law this makes them employees by default anyway.

If you like watching games on twitch good for you, I don't think however it's something GOG should be mainly focusing on or orbiting e-celeb parasites and making wierd marketing posts that can greatly backfire on them.
uhm, i dont follow Jessie cox
ive only heard about him
Heck i havent really even tuned in to gog streams in a long time
at least 4 years or something i think

Sure, sure
i dont belive for a second that you woud say no to exclusivle Straming deal where you coud earn up to half a million in the year to make a example.

About gog streamers making money
i have no idea
i just commented on the general complaining about Streaming and about popular streamers
For some reason is really popular to hate Popular streamers latly

I wont get on the hate train even though im not a fanboy as you describe it

Also, Gog streaming isnt exactly a new thing

Don't forget to hightlight all of the GOG Games 2020 streams so Twitch doesn't delete them after 2 weeks.

The channel has broadcasts from up to 2 months ago, not just 2 weeks. :)

But it would be a nice idea to have them on Youtube or something, yes.

VODs might last longer when you're a Twitch partner which the GOG channel is. Normally VODs are gone after 2 weeks. If you highlight the complete VOD it will stay until you manually delete it.
