I have satisfied my nostalgia for the Amiga version of NvsS with emulation last year and it's been one of those cases were nostalgia is best left untouched in the memories. The AI was really bad and there was no challenge, too easy really. Even when I was 11 I quickly got bored of it after finding out how to win every time. I don't know if the DOS version - I guess this is the DOS version - has better AI - for sure it looks uglier.
Many of these on sale, I find them over-priced, and backlog and all, but I might use the occasion to try out The I of the Dragon.

Could we get some more detail about the Saboteur releases? The description makes it sound like some kind of remake, and not original releases with emulator wrappers? The screenshots look like the ZX Spectrum version, but there's the odd "Retro DLC" paragraph at the end where you can apparently choose between music from the different platforms, it's all kinda confusing.
Hm, the SysReqs for the Remake of North & South seens rather high, but I made the experience, that my I7 3770 often can handle such games. Can someone confirm if the game really needs a 7th gen core i CPU or if it `s playable on my CPU? The rest of my PC is better than the SysReqs, so only the CPU thing makes me wonder.

I seam to recall that you coud change difficulty and the harder ones provided a more challange
but its a long time since i played it so my memory migth be fuzzy there

Oh, the Saboteur! I played this on my C-128 with a green CRT monitor. I never did beat it, but I played it for many hours. Nice to see it here.
high rated
Since most people in this thread seem to share love for good old games I'd like to ask for your attention to this issue, for those who're still not aware.
Everyone who loves excellent RPGs and strategy games should buy them while still available. God knows what the bastards from EA will do with it :(

park_84: "Saboteur II: Avenging Angel - the first video game to feature a female protagonist"
Are they saying the first in general, not in the series? That must be wrong.

VanishedOne: I noticed that too. Metroid was released in the previous year, and according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samus_Aran#Reception_and_cultural_impact Samus in turn was 'predated by one year by Toby Masuyo ("Kissy") from Namco's Alien Sector (Baraduke)'.
Also, Ms. Pac-Man is from 1982
Oh my GOG, and they even have the Schneider CPC version of Saboteur 2, a game I never played, but my dad had a Schneider CPC 464, and the games I played on it had far superior graphics, compared to the C-64.

Just do a CPU compare on some site. Anyway, it plays fine on my 6700... in (maximum) 1080P (for some reason).

Does anyone know? Is 1080P really the highest possible resolution? PC Gaming Wiki only provides a stub...

This is sad news shows you that EA are run by idiots. These games do sell well here so why get rid of a revenue source unless they are just going to be allowed on Origin only.

Good point. The earliest I found after some Googling is https://www.giantbomb.com/female-protagonists/3015-2287/ -- it suggests Lady Bug (October 1981) was first of all.
This "Throwback Party"/"nostalgia party", to which "everyone is invited" seems no different from a 'spend more money' advert to me. Maybe I'm missing something?

Oh, so do you get multiple versions of the game for various platforms when you buy it? The store page is really vague about how the Saboteur games are handled.

From reading the gamepages, I think so.
