given the current situation with hitman, it does not feel appropriate to wish you happy anniversary.

rather, it feels more appropriate to hope that you come to your senses and actually deal with the hitman fiasco in some kind of reasonable way.

The DRM thing is an outrage sure, but it's not the topic of this thread. All those aggressive DRM declamations on every thread makes us seem a bit unhinged and silly, which isn't helping our case.
Somebody likes anno games from the choosing personnel but doesn't have discounts for them in how long?
Did ubisoft forbid giving discounts to those games because there exists a new version on their site.
If you have the machine for the game and don't mind the drm people can get it on ubisoft.

Actually, that's where you are wrong. There has been more achieved with pushing something in a radical manner than a civilized one. If we didn't complain about games being rejected here left and right in the past, some games might have never released here.
Happy Birthday, GOG!

I'm sorry, but starting a "Let's Pat Ourselves on the Back For How Awesome We Are" thread in the middle of having royaly fucked up and expecting people to only praise you and wish you happy birthday because this is a thread about how great you are is kind of messed up. If GOG wants to celebrate how gosh darn neat it is, it should first fix the mess it made.
Happy Anniversary, GoG!
Happy Annivrs...

Why is everything on fire? Why is Linko rolling on the floor, crying? Why is the table upturned?

Oh, right. Kinda hard to party when someone's been stabbed.

There are quite a few threads dealing with that topic right now, though. Which is good and important. I am assuming, however, that a number of people at GOG, who are not in a position to make these decisions, maybe do give a shit, so I'd rather try to stay civilized in this context.

So, happy birthday, GOG!

I quite liked the staff recommendations. That's a nice touch.

I completely agree. Even AFTER SmollestLight came on here and told them NOT to post their hysteria on this thread as it was completely off topic, they continued to do so.

Happy Anniversary, GOG.

Interesting to note that in this year's anniversary thread, in contrast to the previous three years, there's no mention of DRM-free in your announcement, only in users' posts. Can't help but wonder if this absence is another sign of your new path, or if you felt uncomfortable saying anything about DRM-free after the embarrassment that the Hitman 2016 release was. I sincerely hope it's the latter, and that you take our feedback to heart and take all necessary corrective measures so that we can all celebrate your true DRM-free anniversary next year.

rjbuffchix: Happy anniversary.

To celebrate DRM-free gaming, [...]
What makes you think that this is a DRM-free gaming celebration? GOG hasn't framed a sale as a DRM-free gaming one in years, and has even dropped the mention of DRM-free from announcements of upcoming/new releases since late November 2020; last time it was mentioned was in the Shenmue III release.

rjbuffchix: [...] And has anyone else noticed it's like clockwork that following some ridiculous event like the aforementioned Hitman GOTY release, Cyberpunk Interactive Always Online Map, etc, we then get these very-desired releases?[...]
Yes, they do it every single time.

Lucian_Galca: Finally gog gets some old releases that have been on Zoom and Steam for ages.

Leroux: Which releases are you talking about? I see neither Blood Omen nor Elvira on Zoom or Steam.
Not those, but GunMetal, Terra Lander, Street Racing Syndicate, and Desert Thunder I think.
Happy anniversary! And thank you for bringing back the classic, Blood Omen.
I wish I could say happy birthday gog but with the direction you've been taking... the cake is a lie!
*spoiler: That's not chocolate*

Happy birthday, GOG! Hopefully you take the opportunity of the anniversary to reconsider some of your recent decisions and go back to your DRM-free roots.
