So... Romero IS revisiting Daikatana, just in a more Time Commando way.

I just wish he had more to show, even a simplistic proof of concept map. And I really wish he didn't say Kickstarter, I was expecting something more sure, instead of "Hey, maybe we'll get the money if you give us some money first".

Anyway, here's hoping for the best.
I will wait for when I see actual "Gameplay footage" to decide and sink money into this but cool concept he has planned out.

Nice, maybe either a remake or a sequel? If Daikatana didn't have so much babysitting (to be fair it wasn't as bad in later patches) I would have liked it more. As it was I didn't dislike it.

Edit: Didn't read the new comment. Double unfortunate about Kickstarter. Why can't developers use Indiegogo?

Romero & Carmack Return With FPS BLACKROOM
If they'll manage to get more than 100k during the first day, I'm guessing they'll have a real shot in funding this.
No idea who he is, never pay attention to who makes what game/s.
Well, apart for sid meier, hard to miss that one.
I love Doom, I love Quake, and to be honest I like Daikatana too. And I think Romero's a nice guy. A really nice guy.

I can't say I'm hyped for the new game, because in general I'm not hyped for new games. I mostly play the old classics, that's just the way I am. So normally I don't back any new game projects.

Here I make an exception. Not because I care about the game itself, but because somehow the idea of Adrian and John getting back together and making a game (after so long!) just warms my heart. I think Romero should make a game, and enjoy the process of making it. If he does, and I can be a part of making it reality, then I'm happier for it.

Good luck Romero & Carmack. Hereby I pledge my $[redacted].

Of course, I also wish they'd make it to GOG, DRM free. Anyone know what's the right way to send the message?

I
am really curious.

Also, what is the message at the end of this ?
I am a stingy jerk.. but I'm backing Blackroom because I believe in Rom and Car's abilities and.. well.. its Cyberpunk... and if you know me.. well, that will always win me over ^_^
Are you going to make us your bitch again?
How about we just make you all a game.

XD

clarry: I also wish they'd make it to GOG, DRM free.
Accordind to kickstarter, DRMfree will be available:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nightworkgames/blackroom-a-new-fps-from-romero-and-carmack
Platform - WIN and Mac (DRM Free + Steam)
Yes, a DRM-free option will be available to backers. After the campaign closes, we will survey backers for their chosen platform: PC/MAC on Steam or PC/MAC DRM-free.
Additional platforms may be added depending on the Kickstarter's performance.
I can't seem to find anything interesting about this kickstarter, not even the back story. It sounds like cheap science fiction. I'm sure they can make the gameplay, since they are basically the inventor of it. So for me it all comes down to level design and modding capabilities. Well, since Linux version is not confirmed yet, it's quite low on my radar

CARICATUREKILB: I'm a bit annoyed that I have to wait until 1600 hrs (GMT) for the big show (according to the website).
I know this is probably for the American audience, but come on Mr Romero, you're om GMT time now!

Azhdar: I found this. CARICATUREKILB, you can read newsletters on their website: Newsletters
Thanks, just found the new newsletter and Kickstarter video...
If that's the only way he can fund it, then so be it...
But I am a little bit excited over this...
Hope it comes to consoles (and awaits angry backlash for this statement).
I hope he learned his lesson from his experience with Shaker and its somewhat controversial KS campaign. Killing it actually left me with more respect for him.

In any case, I'll be more interested when John and Adrian actually ship their game.
I wish they had named it, 'White Room'. Then I could blast out my Cream Album...
