For anyone that remembers the original Jetpack puzzle-platformer from the 90's (free on the link below), a sequel that had long been in the making is now officially OUT! I've played it and its as fun as the original. Highly recommended for fans of games like Lode Runner and Prince of Persia.

Sadly, the game was rejected by GOG's review process as being "too niche" (What the hell do they think everything here is?!?!), but the game can be purchased at the above link for now. And this following wishlist could possibly one day bring it here :

Looks nice enough. But behind schedule as trailer states q2 2014! Will have a look further later on, though $20 seems a bit steep. The original jet pack was on dara o breins go 8 bit on telly recently funnily enough.

Glad someone posted about this. Jetpack 2 is a fantastic platformer and deserves to be on GOG. The original DOS game should be added as well, as one of GOG's free games.

Essentially it's $15 for now with the coupon code at that link. That's what I paid for it. A few things going for it though, to aid your decision-making :
- The game comes with a level editor that's tied in to a level portal (via the login account you make when you buy it), so you can make and share levels easily, extending the life of the game greatly.
- The game already comes with at least 50 levels (more if you include the original game levels packaged in with it).
- It's a fun game, lots of charm, good challenge.
- You're supporting the developer directly.

Thank you guys for the promocode and the further information on the game! I have to admit it has a decent charme (i never played Jetpack1) and brining the price tag down to 15$ makes it more interesting/a more viable choice. @Firebrand what can you see about the controls? Are they spot on?

Damn I absolutely love the original and would have bought this one on GOG immediately. Sucks but I'll have to get it from them directly.

No, but you do in the purchase process and possibly an initial activation. After that you never need to login ever again unless you want to share levels.

The controls are good, but it has weird control pad support, so I use Joy2Key (3.7.4 is free here : http://ccm.net/download/download-1660-joytokey) to map the controls how I see fit. I never feel like the game is being cheap with me. If I die, it's because I haven't mastered a part yet (it is a challenging game!)

thanks for the further insights and the hint with Joy2Key. Will try the flash demo AnonymousJCD considered and if i like it i guess it is a buy :)
