French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo died today, aged 88.

I love his movies.

Bon voyage, Bebel

Repose en paix.

Can't say I recognise them from anything (IMDB Page for those also unfamiliar), though apparently they were in the 1967 Casino Royale.

"them", "they"?
Given that he was known for playing highly masculine adventurer types, I think one can be reasonably sure Belmondo would have liked to be referred to as a "he" and "him".

He was also the face of Lt. Blueberry, from the western comics by Jean Giraud (aka Moebius).

I'll ignore the fact you don't know how to use them and they.

Ignore all you want, it's still just an idiotic fad of very recent vintage, one that would have been incomprehensible to a guy like Jean-Paul Belmondo.

or he was mature enough to know the pronoun fad is a load of crap!

R.I.P.
He was extremely popular in USSR, I believe back in the day his most famous movie was Le professionnel (1981). Good actor, I loved to watch movies with him, it's time to check his latest works, I saw good reviews about movie Un homme et son chien (2008). Rest in peace.

No, nothing to do with anything recent, Standard English.
Both terms accusitive, singular or plural.
You're making a mountain out of a moth fart.

Even if I'm not a native speaker, lol, no, just no.
However no point to making a big discussion out of this, this thread should stay dedicated to Belmondo's memory.
