viperfdl: Just saw The Force Awakens and... well... there were already some scenes which made me roll my eyes a bit.
You should know that the next one might fill you with an irredeemable rage.

I decided the gargoyle glitch couldn't be beaten, so I watched the rest of Lego Harry Potter 1-4 on Youtube. Then Bellatrix and the Malfoys tag-teaming me in 5-7 became the only time in all Lego games that challenged me too much instead of not enough, so I did the same there and discovered Youtube seems to be muting game-movies.

That's what I suspect and so I haven't bought The Last Jedi or newer Star Wars films, yet. Might change that in the near future.
The Lost City

Plot - A writer of trashy romance novels gets kidnapped by evil Daniel Radcliffe, and the guy who is the cover model for her books goes on a quest to save her.... blah blah blah. It's essentially a remake of Romancing the Stone, which has a similar premise of lady writer gets kidnapped by some guy, treasure hunting happens.

It's not a completely bad movie, but it felt like it was just trying way too hard and dragged enough in spots that I started playing while true: learn at the same time. I'm sure that it's better than Uncharted (which I haven't seen), but there are other choices that I would make if I wanted to watch a treasure hunting movie.
I'm From Hollywood. A short comedic retrospective/documentary about the classic Andy Kaufman vs. Jerry Lawler wrestling feud. If you're not familiar, Kaufman started wrestling women and after going undefeated declared himself the Intergender Champion of the world, then crashed Lawler's Memphis-based wrestling promotion where they had an epic feud involving Lawler crippling Kaufman and Kaufman seeking revenge by teaming up with various of Lawler's enemies. It's fairly ordinary wrestling programming but Kaufman's heel work is textbook stuff that many full-time wrestlers today could still learn from. As it turns out, Kaufman's style was in many ways taking the old kayfabe wrestling method and just applying it to stuff like stand-up comedy and filmmaking, so of course he'd be great at the wrestling business.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uQlB99WCuk

This retrospective has interviews with people like Bob Zmuda, Robin Williams, and Marilu Henner commenting on Kaufman's wrestling obsession. The only thing that really mars it is that they couldn't get the rights to show any footage of Kaufman and Lawler's confrontation on the David Letterman show, where Lawler slapped Kaufman and Kaufman responded by going ballistic and screaming barely censored obscenities over Letterman's ear for a minute before storming out (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxPtNUKptag). But overall, it's a good companion to watching the Man on the Moon biopic about Kaufman.

viperfdl: Watched today STAR WARS: Rogue One for the first time. Yeah, I know, I'm late to the party.
Also bought the DVD second hand because I don't want to give Disney money for what they did to Star Wars. I started with Rogue One because the slams usually concentrate on The last Jedi and later movies and I don't want to ruin my last bit of interest in Star Wars by directly watching the supposedly bad movies.
Not supposedly, they are actually bad movies. They make you realize how mastefrully edited the prequel movies are, and how good Episode II is.

Thanks for the warning but you are also taking every motivation from me to watch those movies...
^^
Incredibles 2 (2018)

---Negatives---
-The agenda about a woman taking the leading role (first half of the movie) feels forced, hollow & boring. Maybe the next time the writers team could engage a woman to the duty...
-Elastigirl's hips/thighs. I mean, Mr. Incredible shoulders/chest are exaggerated too... but for a reason (provide the idea of a very strong man). I don't find the reason crystal clear for her
-I remember seen an extra on the Incredibles (2004) movie where the topic is the complexities of recreating hair physics. Seems after all this years they have not improved much on it: eye still easily catches its weird look

---Positives---
-Once the agenda ends, the movie feels natural
-Jack-Jack leads the movie by a long shot
-If wanted empowered women: Edna (Just saying)
-Last but not least: The music! It was one of those movies I watched the credits until exhausting the last music note
-Added later - The dub! How did I miss to praise the dub?! As a non English person, I really appreciate the noticeable effort doing a superb dub: It is not only the quality voice acting, but the adaptation of some jokes/dialogs, changes to signs directly on the movie (and not through lazy subtitles)... An exquisite job

---Neutral---
-Lot of extras (Disney+, maybe 2hrs in total). Some help to explain my critizism, others help to value unnoticed elements: wardrobe design, number of extras and their designs...
The thing is, being lenghty, bored me (justified or not) BUT I appreciate the effort to add them.
Surprised by the effort of adding so many extras, I checked those for the Incredibles 1 and no,
it doesn't include one about hair physics. Pending: Attach the DVD player to the PC,
install programs and search on the DVD disk

Due the trendy sagas flood during the last 20(?) years, something I've learned is to strengthen my aversion to them and stay away from 2nd, 3rd, 4th... 11th (and counting) parts as much as possible, gladly prioritizing them to the bottom of the queue. (Reason why it took me 4 years to watch this movie)

Did it worth?
From the saga perspective: No. I'd embraced a Jack-Jack movie earlier. But it's clear all the characters & their paved fame are a safer route to the investors.
From the general entertainment: So-so but great music!

Edit: Removed a possible spoiler and aded praise to the dub!
Edit2: Added a comment about the extras

I bet the game is coming to GoG.
Do you mean Matrix Awakens or the old ones (Enter the Matrix, Path of Neo etc.)? Because the first one was released only on PS5 and XSX and was removed from their stores recently.
The Hobbit (2012) for the first time. I enjoyed it. I'll be watching the next installment today or tomorrow.
.
Toy Story 4 (2019)

Well... it really took a lot of effort to me to decide to watch this movie.
Why? Well, my aversion to sagas -and- this is one of the few in crescendo that reached its pinnacle with the 3rd part...
I anticipated a definitive decline, but I am very happy to say I was totally wrong!

-It keeps the high bar of entertaining both, kids and adults
-Creative use of animation
-Clever script that makes you think about life situations, not in a forced way
like an agenda, but in a natural manner
-Great participation of Bo Peep!
-It also reminded me the great Pixar dub work that makes me feel like a 1st class citizen :)

Negatives:
-Randy Newman seems to sit on a comfort zone
-Not fully agree with making Buzz Lightyear act like a dumb sometimes.
What for? An unnecessary demerit IMO

Final result: Double thumbs up & a smile of satisfaction
Marty, 4k

An old movie, won academy awards, but reminds me of a simpler time.

The clumsy play between a man and a woman, neither one Adonis or Aphrodite, and their getting to know one another, with all of the 'old, regular' ways of life, creating a bit of challenge for them.

As was par for the course, in the day, there is nothing that can really offend anyone, other than those looking something graphic, or controversial; they would find it boring.

Something that you could sit back with, if B&W isn't a problem, and drift away with, given a few glasses of wine.
Crank 2: High Voltage

It was.. something. I guess you need to be under the influence of some kind of psychedelic to appreciate the experience. I wasn't.

From Dusk Till Dawn

I just wanna say that the first half is a completely different film from the second half and the latter is the one most people like to praise. The first half, not so much.

Commando

It's been years since i last saw it and it amazes me how much i've forgotten about it. Overall, a pleasant return to times when i was more blissfully ignorant.

The Old Guard

I went in blind. And having Dudley Dursley as the villain was worth the trip. He has a smackable face.

Time Trap

A one-way time travel experience in a cave. Good to pass the time.
I've been waiting many years for release of Top Gun: Maverick and finally got this to watch.
Right from the start, it throws you to good old Hollywood times: real action, one-liners and no "new agenda". Tom Cruise shows his great shape in 50-something, Val Kilmer delivers a memorable performance too, even new Top Gun members fit the movie well and don't pull the blanket over themselves. In addition, there are more practical effects than CGI, so it gives you adrenaline and doesn't let go till the end. You just forget about everything and enjoy.
For me, sequel didn't surpass the original movie cause of direct copying many of its scenes and soundtrack (Lady Gaga is not suitable replacement of "Take My Breath Away"), but it's successfully coped with main task: giving the nostalgia about almost 30 years ago when I saw Top Gun at first time.

Finished watching all 3 Hobbit movies (extended version wasn't avail. for me) and enjoyed the trilogy.

Though the original Lord of the Rings trilogy still tops for me. Except for the ending to No. 3, that was crazy long and it was funny watching people in the theater getting up, only to sit back down more than once LOL.
