I like Good Old Games, so naturally I'm a huge baseball fan ;) . And this year my beloved Red Sox are back in it! Anyone else feel like BSing a bit about the postseason? Yes, I'm just looking for an excuse to rant and rave, sorry ;)
I'd love to see a Cubs / Sox World Series, and if I'm being REALLY honest I'd *almost* like to see the Cubbies win, just so Theo can ascend to the status of GM godhood. But after last night I think the Cubs are going to be looking at being down 2 games to none in a short series and wondering what the heck happened. Giants win that series, calling it now ;)
And I don't think my Sox are going to make the World Series either :( Damn Orioles couldn't knock off the Blue Jays, and I'm pretty sure they'll beat out the Sox in the Championship series. Texas can take its fake one seed and shove it. Arguably the three best teams in the American League were all in the East, and despite the fact that they beat the heck out of each other all year they all basically ended up with 90 wins. Plus Toronto and the Sox handled them all year long.
Poor Cleveland gets overlooked (sorry Tito!) but I was never sold on that rotation, even when I was being told it was the best in baseball at the start of the year. And now they're hurt. Better luck next year (probably not, sorry!).
And I STRONGLY dislike both the Nationals and the Dodgers (despite being a huge fan of Dave Roberts and Adrian Gonzalez in LA and Scherzer in Washington). So I really don't care about this series LOL. I'm super glad MLB backed off on trying to jam Harper down our throats as "the face of the game" - the guy is a dink and his team can't get knocked out fast enough for me.
So, any thoughts or other fans? Or am I just going to end up indulging myself in here?
