This is why I love GoG, it's a year-round Festivus for the rest of us.

So? It's the same as me saying "Happy Thanksgiving" in response while I never have and never will celebrate that day. Just roll with it. Besides, my family never truly celebrated Christmas in the traditional sense. Yeah, we tend to get a tree with decorations, listen to Christmas music, and give presents. That's it though. We don't go to church or - god forbid! - pray. Hell, I'm a fucking atheist. It's really just the one time of the year where family gets together to enjoy each other's company.

At Christmas, if it's hot, I like to do the airing of the undies.

Ditto. I'm an atheist too, and I like Christmas a lot. Gifts, tree, watching some version of the Christmas Carol, Patrick Stewart in a singing chrismas hat... it's all just nice, it's fun.

I don't want to get political here, but if your family wanted to sit around the tree this year and berate the left wing, you'd skip the festivities too. :P

I can understand that. To be perfectly honest, we are not having any kind of family gathering (I will not get into details). I only meant in general that I like Christmas and think there is no reason anyone shouldn't be able to enjoy them on principal. The fact that individual circumstances can fuck up your Christmas is whole different thing.
