This was my first contact with the fictional universe of Middle Earth created by J. R. R. Tolkien, back in 1989, and was designed by late Mike Singleton (1951-2012), who is considered the father of home computer gaming.

Spanish publisher ERBE Software fought, in late 80s, a huge battle against piracy drastically reducing the prices of original games. At a certain point, in 1985, created their own branch for software development to separate it from the main publishing business. So, TOPO Soft was born.

July of 1985 was when it all began for the Amiga family of computers. It was so ahead of its time that everyone seemed to have a problem to categorize it, even Commodore!

This game was released in October of 1986. Two months earlier, in August, Metroid was made available in Japan for the Famicom Disk System. In September, and also for the Famicom Disk System, Akumajou Dracula – aka Castlevania – was, as well, released in Japan.
