I got an e-mail about it like a week ago or more (on account of the one game I got from there), but CharlesGrey's heads-up thread about Humble's DRM-free sale made me figure I might as well mention this one, too. Lots of obscure little indie curiosities, for those into that sort of thing.
Sale's probably getting close to its end, though, so don't dawdle. ;)

Thanks, for some reason I didn't get the mail.
Thanks for mentioning the sale.

Today, the 4th of July, one game is 100% off: Dungeon Sweeper (https://gunsling3r.itch.io/dungeon-sweeper).

Actually, all the paid games from that dev are 100% off: https://gunsling3r.itch.io/ (they don't seem very good, though).

As per the sale, I couldn't resist snatching some good deals: Redirection, Lost Sea, Legacy of the Elder Star, Wheels of Aurelia, Regions, Hack ‘n’ Slash, and even Spacebase DF-9. :P

I also got Hack 'n' Slash and Spacebase DF-9 (at that price...). But if those games are drm-free on itch.io, why not on GOG? I might understand Spacebase DF-9 for all the backlash it got. But Hack 'n' Slash?

And can someone explain OneShot to me? Yesterday it was on the sale and today it isn't in the store. Fine game as it is.

(And I've been noticing more and more steam only keys on itch.io...)

Agreed. I always assumed that Hack 'n' Slash wasn't available DRM-free because of some strange legal condition, but now there's no excuse (and still less excuse for not putting a downloadable build on the Humble Store, which has been selling this game since its release).

Also sadly true, though my perception (as someone who only browses games with Linux builds) is that there's very few of those. Perhaps there are many more cases for Windows-only games...

DubConqueror:
Games 100% off (or 96% off but that somehow still results in 0 in one case):

In dev:
- Spearena
- Endless Garden
- Vehicle Stunt Simulator
- Dungeon Sweeper ("on hold"? may be referring to Android port?)
- ShapeBall
- The Legendary Hero of Space
- Space Wars
- Final Light

Released:
- DogFight Simulator
- Pocket Piano One
- Pocket Piano Two
- Fish n Arrow
- Flappy Rajinikanth Mumbai
- Christmas Loot
- CyberShmup
- Mini Golf with Friends Multiplayer
- ColorRush
- Old School Soccer
- Jewel Rush 298 levels

Unless I missed something.

That uploader had that and Stardew Valley there. Uploader name: "Chep games" (sic). Sole description for both "Cheaper here!". Something very fishy seemed to be going on there.

Edit: All but CyberShmup (released) and Spearena, Endless Garden, ShapeBall and The Legendary Hero of Space (in dev) are no longer free now.

They acknowledge that in the article itself:

Will this feature really fix anything? Probably not, but we think it’s cool and fun so happy April Fools*.
But, wait... did you notice that asterisk?

* This feature is here to stay
Right at the end of the article.

And the fact is that the feature is on itch.io to this day.

I don't believe it'll change anything (hardly any developers use it, anyway), but I think the thought behind it isn't all that far-fetched. Heck, even GOG, in their humble beginnings, were a lot about "respecting the value of the game", and barely held any sales until much later (about the time I joined), so maybe that's one of the "principles" they lost that makes them "more like Steam".

In fact there are titles currently in their summer sale that have reverse sale pricing. :p

There are? I can only find one and even that is still free (+100% from the baseprice $0).
