cose_vecchie: But what about "Dieselpunk"?
That's just the Norwegian population of 18 year olds with saggy pants and loud exhausts on their diesel BMWs. Absolute menace.

Ryan333: In my completely uneducated, uninformed, and un...whatever-other-"UN" you want to attach to me... opinion...

"Punk" (to me) implies a counterculture or sub-culture cast against a higher standard. Whether cyberpunk, steampunk, biopunk, etc. -- the implication seems to be that there is some sort of "higher authority" (politically, religiously, and/or technologically) that the "punk" culture is cast against.

To me... "NASA-punk" would be something along the lines of: Yes, there's some level of "checks and balances" for "authorized" space exploration in the sense of: I want to make this change based on a completely uneducated hunch, but... oh, look at that! I've got funding (which may or may not have been provided by sleeping with and/or bribing some people along the way), so let's just try it and see what happens....And I'm blasting off to Jupiter in something between a tin can held together by duct tape and Super-Glue or a fero-fiberous hyper-carbonate lithium-alloy shell -- which is entirely based on my political and social affiliation throughout the game.
sleeping with??? bribing? wtf for life you have m8????

Punk is Chaos with a capital C
Ok, ice hot take here: Punk isn't very Punk. Punk music and other accoutrements of punk culture are and always were products someone was selling. And whatever big talk rebellion and class and blah blah blah, it was really always mostly an excuse to be loud, drunk and obnoxious, and just a different subset of stuff to buy to be "cool".
NASA exists solely to deceive the general public about where they live, and how the universe was created, and what its structure is, with fake CGI cartoon images of the earth and other so-called planets and nebulas and black holes, etc. (all of which images are also fake CGI cartoons too) and fake space travel hoaxes that are literally filmed on Hollywood sets on earth with actors in front of green screens, and also to steal endless amounts of money from the US taxpayers in order to fund these fake images, and who knows they really do with the rest of the money, but it certainly isn't "space travel."

NASA is very excellent at punking the vast majority of the earth's population, who fully believe that all of their asinine CGI cartoons are literally real photographs and/or authentic video recordings, even though NASA themselves have openly admitted that they aren't, and even though simply stacking their own official cartoon images of the alleged globe earth side by side and looking at the many radical differences between them 100% proves they are fake beyond any possible doubt.

Aaaand...stop the clock. 8 hours, before we've reached total pants on head insanity? Not bad, for this forum.

I assume you are referring to my post. If so, then indeed, it is generally considered to be quite "insane" ever to question and/or to disbelieve any official government narratives and/or not to believe that provably fake CGI cartoon images are actual literal reality.

It's not actually insane, but it is considered to be so by most people, who blindly, without question, and without doing any research, automatically accept everything they are told by the government, media, Hollywood and schools, and who think that anyone who does not do likewise, is "insane."

Alexim: NASApunk is a term made up by Starfield marketing to pump up their mediocre game.
Yeah, so it seems. Totally lacking substance or logic. The designs or ambience do not seem that unique to justify the creation of a new term.
Bioshock looked unique. Fallout also taped into something singular. Starfield seems quite derivative in what I saw.

Assuming that what you're saying is true, for a moment:
* The first moon landing is said to have occurred occurred in 1969, and was shown on TV that year I believe.
* You are saying that such video, and other NASA videos, were made using CGI.
* That implies that realistic CGI was use in 1969.
* Doing a little bit of online research, it appears that CGI was first used in 1973, and it was clearly not realistic. (Looks like it was 2D and low resolution.)
* Hence, your claim has a problem.

I think it's time for you to do your own research, and make sure the sites are trustworthy.

By research, I assume you mean flying into space and seeing for oneself? Because, otherwise, we're all left to the same devices: someone saying something. Good thing the US and NASA aren't the center of the world, and we get people saying the exact same thing as NASA from other parts of the globe.

But sure, you are free to believe some other couch crusader: the earth is flat, man never walked on the moon, birds aren't real, the earth has only been around for 4,000 years, dinosaurs are fake. Am I forgetting anything?

Really doesn't feel the Hot, given John Lydon AKA Johnny Rotten of The Sex Pistols is a complete corporate sell out and conservative supporter

And every country in the world that has been involved in "sending stuff into space" have all come together to create a single coherent Space exportation story, in spite most of the being in direct idealogical competition.

I'm curious, do you think other big ticket scientific research is also made up? Do you think the Large Hadron Collider is also faked? The various nuclear fusion Toruses that have been built? At what technological level do you think humanity is at?

Covid isn't real and the vaccine is nanobots that will turn you into a zombie.

Yep, we can't send a person into space, but we can mass manufacture complex self replicating nano machinery and mastered human/machine interfaces.

Ancient-Red-Dragon:
Questioning established authority is a good start. But you can't just stop there: if you're not also questioning the other questioners (and yourself -- that is, your own reasoning), and instead just believe everything that anyone who's not in a position of traditional power/authority (but who still has a platform from which to preach, be it published books, online vids, or just social media) says, then you're no better or smarter than those people who believe everything the gummint/"the elites" tell them. Conspiracy-theory demagogues are no less likely (and have no less incentive) to deceive others and/or themselves than traditional sources of authority are. It also seems to me that people who tend to expound the most on supposed conspiracies tend to be the sorts most likely to (try to) start their own conspiracies, which they may sometimes truly believe to be counter-conspiracies (informed by the same principle behind the idea that habitual liars tend to assume everyone else is lying just as much as they are).

Actual critical thinking is about more than just assuming that your own worldview is correct, "because obviously it is, I couldn't possibly be wrong about these things -- I mean, I'm me!" I'm sure it feels good to feel like you're one of the few people who "know the real truth", but that's just another security blanket of belief.

Oh, yeah. I totally forgot that. Never mind the people who died from it, like my friend's brother or my neighbor. They're probably alive and well, hiding in some government bunker.

Anyway, that user has no reason to post anymore. He just unlocked the GOG forums' Tropic Thunder Achievement, which I guess he's been after all these years.

Well, he is certainly an achievement hound - going by all his moaning about the lack thereof in some game releases - so... err... good for him?

Honestly, I don't know... probably no more than steampunk.
