Hello fellow Goggers

I'm having trouble redeeming a gift code I've got, what happens is when I put the code in, the continue button is still greyed out.. If I try it in the opera browser it seems to work right so I'm thinking this is firefox related. I have some similar problems with other websites where buttons don't work and I was just wondering if anyone knows what type of control such a button uses (e.g. flash, java) that I might need to update to fix this.

They changed the redeem page a few weeks back and now it only works on the latest firefox and chrome. It doesnt work (for instance) on firefox forks like Palemoon.

Ah that might explain it, I'm using the older firefox 56. I'm guessing forks includes the firefox 56 spinoff I heard about a while back (waterfox?)

I´m trying to redeem a gift some days and nothing too. No way on Edge, Opera, even Galaxy. I don´t use firefox or chrome but i´ll have to download chrome to try. Thanks!

Edit: i download the latest version of firefox and nothing... "something went wrong". The last chance is install chrome.

Did you get the code from a grey market site? - because it sounds like thats the case.

they dont supply all the codes though.

thing is ive only seen the "something went wrong". thing recently with people trying to redeem codes from shady sites. hence my suspicion.

Well, i´ve just download chrome and... "something went wrong". It´s something unusual and the first time happens me. If more people have the same problem on the Giveaway, gog will solve it. It´s not something very important but ggf162 donated the key and i want to honor him. I ´ll wait some days. Regards!

Pale Moon user here, can confirm. I filed a support ticket on Dec 3..still haven't heard anything.

oh, and Pale Moon isn't a fork of Firefox...anymore.. It started out like that but it uses an entirely different engine now.

The only reason redeems works on Firefox is because they've made their own engine as similar to Chrome's Blink engine. The same engine used by Edge, Opera, Brave, etc etc..Most all contemporary browsers sadly.
It's like when Steam DRM took over game stores.
