vsr: Agree with you.
I want to go to Israel, to live in Kibbutz. -_-'

ps: hippies were wrong, when they started smoking weed. :D

Along that line, have you ever reflected on certain foods, and how hungry an ancestor had to be to try and eat it, or figure out how to eat it properly?

I used to do that until I realized that everyone eats something that everyone else thinks is beyond repulsive. On top of that, depending on where you go, the 'proper way' changes. XD Something considered custom and proper one place is considered rude and disgusting somewhere else.

Is this like countdown?!

...nope... cant figure it out!
Pretty sure that the whole Hippie thing didn't really come from America in the 60's anyway. They were just the first to (ironically) commercialize it. They then claimed it like it like they invented it.
Jesus Christ had the whole "Sandal wearing, pott smoking hippie" thing going from way back. "The meek shall inherit the Earth....far...fucking out man....far....fucking out" It failed back then too.

I'm not a people person. I LIKE isolation.

Edit: why does the GOG system insert double spacing for me sometimes, when i know i only single spaced?

"We will send Him beyond the War,
And he will prepare the way,
He will make straight the path to Synthesis,
He will birth the perfect melding of man and machine."

Oh it's Matheo, not Matthias. Nevermind, tell me when Matthias gets here.

When I stop trying to change the world and change myself, I felt much happier.

For things that the world and me cannot come to a compromise, I just walk my own way and avoid the world and felt even happier.

That's where I think the OP isn't really going to make traction with these points. Electronic gaming is an attraction for people who like isolation - one can still have fun without the whole "being around people" thing. All of the "you must change your ways and get with other people to sing Kumbaya" stuff likely won't make a dent with many gamers. It's not games' fault, but simply that electronic games and loners tend to converge.

Serious response time.

Premise that we ask for superficial entertainment is false. Despite your being in GOG it is clear confirmation bias. Most here are not casual gamers, hence this entertainment is not superficial for most of us but an actual hobby. And honestly, you don't do anything with that premise, just go onto an appeal to revert to a more natural civilization (quite an oxymoron?).

Anyway I think the fundamental issue is not logical, but emotional. You actually believe most people are dissatisfied like you. Make no mistake, at least half the people in the globe are dissatisfied. But not like you. Many people like cities. Many people are perfectly satisfied and loved and loving in cities. I know I am, for the most part...

So speak for yourself of zombies. Why are you posting here instead of taking a walk in the woods or trying to find like minded loners to commune with? Oh wait... * Wake up dude. It's not society, it's you. There's nothing magical about society that is reducing your quality of life. It's all you doing it to yourself. And clearly you're housing some destructive wishes... which you think you are directing at society at large even...

So the kindest thing I can tell you is: Please stop posting. Go and be happy. Stop doing this to yourself. Find help.

* This internal contradiction is the answer to your what happened to hippies question. In a way you had the people least able to socialize productively willingly choose to reject modern material productivity in order to focus on social outcomes. Not easy to do at all... For most of us the material ease achieved with capitalism (from refrigerators to automobiles) is what facilitates social cohesion of like-minded individuals. Despite the many distractions...
