HeresMyAccount: As for torrent, I don't think I've ever done that, wouldn't know where to find it, and if I'm not mistaken, aren't those websites where you go if you want to infect your computer with every piece of malware ever made?
The most well known of such websites are usually safe(and even more so if one uses a good AV and/or common sense just in case)....also the safe torrents are usually easy to spot: Good/safe ones have higher numbers of "seeds"(those uploading it) & good comments.

(I only recommend this, btw, as you have a KEY for that OS and imo it'd be morally ok)

Well, thanks. I'll consider that, but at this point I'm just looking into any way in which I can get Windows 7, but right now I'm considering getting a DVD somehow.

Did you check your PM? I sent some info on that to you there. :)

No, I didn't realize that until you just said it, but now I've replied to that.

However, I also looked on Amazon and found something that might be helpful if I'm interpreting it correctly. It seems like they're selling various versions of Windows 7 recovery DVDs pretty cheaply (plus shipping), and from the description it looks like they're essentially like regular Windows 7 DVDs, except that they don't include keys, and expect me to have my own (which I'm pretty sure is what the sticker on the side of my computer represents).

But I want to be sure that I know what I'm talking about. Do you know anything about these? Here are the links:

https://www.amazon.com/Recovery-compatible-Versions-Systems-Re-install/dp/B01LZ0PUTT/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=windows+7&qid=1577906380&sr=8-3

https://www.amazon.com/Windows-Install-Reinstall-Recovery-Restore/dp/B07QPWH5QS/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=windows+7&qid=1577906380&sr=8-7

https://www.amazon.com/Windows-Versions-Install-Recovery-Reinstall/dp/B01MDQS9FC/ref=sr_1_31?captcha_verified=1&keywords=windows+7&qid=1577907113&sr=8-31

They do say that it's possible to boot from them, and to do a full install, so theoretically that's everything I need, right?

Yup, and snipped the bits that no longer apply as of our PM chat. Have a good one. :)

GameRager: Also if you own a valid OS key you could always torrent the same OS and make a bootable DVD/USB stick and use that instead.
Why on earth would you torrent a shady ISO if you can simply get one from MS website??

I wasn't aware they offered them.....do they allow them to people with OEM keys like OP likely has? If so, then fine, otherwise he'd likely/sadly still have needed to go that route.

(Aside: Not all torrents are virus laden messes as some think, and a good number of torrents aren't of pirated/etc materials.

Also as with all torrents, common sense is key....more seeders and positive comments/votes usually means safe.)

Good point. Apparently official MS site does not recognise OEM keys. Still, there are legal workarounds.

Call MS, fiddle with stuff? Why do that when there are other faster(and as safe) options? Legality? To heck with legality(in some cases)...to me morality matters more anyways(especially for something one paid for).

(Also as I said that fearmongering nonsense others say[in general] about "shady" torrents is mostly hog swill, and even the rare shady torrent can be avoided with common sense and a bit of reading)
