IronArcturus: I'm still wondering why Torchlight 2 still isn't on GOG...
avatar
Matruchus: Especially since Humble is selling a drm-free version of it. Which means there is nothing stopping the devs to sell it here.
I don't think most devs these days like the format GOG sells their games.. I think we all personally love it, but they on the other hand, do not. I speculate that anyways.

MiloRivers: I heard Diablo 3 was pretty raunchy at launch, but i've also heard they fixed everything by now.
avatar
Elmofongo: Though the always online DRM is still a thing YES the game is fixed. Auction House is gone, gameplay is fluid, etc.
So what's still the problem??

Personally I'd say Torchlight 1&2 are better than Diablo 1, but worse than Diablo 2. I can't comment on Diablo 3, because I only just bought it, and haven't actually installed it yet.

There could probably be one; an exclusivity (time-limited or not) contract with Humble. You'll also notice that even though Humble offered a Linux version of the first Torchlight in two of their bundles, the version is nowhere to be found in stores.

Well I'd imagine so, since Diablo 1 looks rather dated these days. I might still be able to get into Diablo 2. I'm not all that picky, and i can easily get into older titles. But sometimes, (ultima being an example) I just can't feel it. lol

Actually Humble doesn't sell any of the Torchlight games anymore which is kind of weird.

MiloRivers: You mean you have an extra cd key lying around? lol!
Apparently I don't! I've tried to give it away via chat several times, only to have the recipient tell me they had already received it. Apparently someone finally took mine, because the key no longer shows up on my unredeemed gifts list.

I'm sure I'm not the only one with a spare key of it lying around. I believe that Torchlight holds the dubious distinction as being the most given away game by GOG outside of the free games.

How often does GOG have these giveaways? (Another reason Steam can suck a fart)
Add these games to your list because they may be interesting for you: , [url=http://www.gog.com/game/sacred_2_gold]Sacred 2, Divine Divinity and Titan Quest.

Usually, every major sale gets one giveaway.
The last winter sale ended with a 48-hour giveaway of Giants: Citizen Kabuto, the last summer sale had one for Battle Realms. Additionally, you could "earn" free games by spending a certain amount of money ($5 total got you Divine Divinty, for example).
Occasionally, they'll also do giveaways in the course of some other "event". A "Team 17" promo on December 14 came with free copies of Worms Forts: Under Siege.

There are exceptions to this, of course, but by now, it is almost tradtion here.

The Auction House is gone!? But... wasn't that like a big thing in the game? I kind of got the impression that the game had kind of been developed around the concept of monetizing it further. Or did the media and reviews made it appear larger than it actually was?

Relax. Blizzard may have cracked but I'm sure EA is still trying to figure out a way to charge for gas with NFS. Don't lose hope! :P

Haven't played Diablo 3, but Torchlight quite fun to play and it doesn't required online DRM.

Does anyone who's played Diablo 3 ever tried Grim Dawn? It's seem interesting but yeah it's Steam unfortunately least it can runs offline mode as far as i know.
No. Why is this even a question?

Get D3.

tinyE: so they could dumb it down.
Spoken like a true Torment 10 player, right?

Elmofongo: Diablo III.

Torchlight II just looks.....unmemorable and cartoony. Even Diablo has more interesting lore than this.

Go to Battle.net and download the game. First half of the first Act is free.

Always online DRM. Because yes, DRM is why they made the game the way they made it. Facepalm.
