Laughable. Even devs don't test their games are compatible on a very wide range. They test a subset based on typical configurations found on the market... or just the machines they can afford to get their hands on. Then they release said game and get their customers and communities to report further problems.

desert-bard: If games are being updated to modern systems are they still available for older systems? For example I was looking at The Witcher 1 and it says the minimum requirement is Windows 10 even though the game came out five years before Win 10 did. I have a Win 7 machine for retro gaming and I figure it would have run on Win 7 back in the day.

Is Windows 10 a requirement because it can only be downloaded through GOG Galaxy or are standalone installers still available? And if so how would I know they are available when considering a game purchase?

Syphon72: No, from what I seen that's just some bull labeling. The game should run on Windows 7 fine. That lable doesn't make since because the game run on 11.
