have you installed it without a folder, just to the root of drive c:?
there's no such thing as "one folder up" or "deleted everything in its folder". try to put in game folder your own files, uninstall and you'll see it removed only game files and your own files still there. Uninstallers do not remove everything, only what's been installed.

I have no idea what actually happened to your PC but next time you should at least put games where gog suggests you to, and it's not a c:\

Once you apply the Circle of Eight mod patch (props to them) the danger will be that you have no social life and become a D&D nerd if you weren't already. You'll get hooked, and when you aren't playing you'll think about the crafting system, or whether you should have leveled up your rogue higher, or what you are going to do about that spider, etc.

I hope you do realize that games on gog use gog installers, do you think gog can't code installer properly?

And the guy asked a question based on a conflated memory of Ruins of Myth Drannor vs Temple of Elemental Evil, and that playing the game on an old PC formatted the HD. He merely wanted to make sure the bug in ToEE (it wasn't) had been remedied (it has, in a patch, but wasn't a problem with ToEE to begin with). It's not an unreasonable question based on mistaken information. It's no reason to attack someone for their lack of technical knowledge when such a problem did exist with a similar game.

Why? Just because it's a temple of elemental evil is it unsafe? Do they leave sacrificial daggers lying around or something? Could be a very safe and tranquil temple of elemental evil where people sit around praying for evil things to happen. Bleeding predjudices nowadays ;op
