Yes, Super Mario Bros was a great game back in the end of the 80's. Good platformer game.

NFS is usually faster but if you need to interact between or with Windows machines then SMB is the way to go.

No it wasn't, at least not part 1. SMB 1 has absolutely abysmal play control, which is fatal to a platforming game. And it also just keeps copy & pasting the same levels over and over again.

Popular, yes. Good, no.

it's one of the oldest games in existence. It sold consoles for Nintendo back in the 80's. Probably one of the most iconic and good games ever. I don't know how well it holds up today, but it is one of the best examples for how to design a game that will live forever. Innovative and fun.

The game has super tight controls - that goes for Super Mario Brothers AND Super Meat Boy.
