GeraltOfRivia_PL: Is it okay to like both GOG and Steam?
You can like whatever you damn well want to like.

Want to like steam? then like steam.
Want to like GOG? then like GOG.

Want to be a true chad and shop at both as need and want demand? then be that true chad.

The choice like so many other things in life.
Is your wallets and yours.
but largely your wallet's.

Nope. But it's better than liking only Steam.
It's okay to dislike both of them and concentrate on liking games or supporting small developers instead.

I was thinking that right before I started reading your sentence. Games are the end goals. Quality games with good support.

I mean who's going to stop you from liking them, though?

As for me, I prefer GOG and itch.io. Lately, I've been leaning more toward itch.io since I'm finding a lot of games that keep me excited there.
As others have said, I expect it depends on what you want. If you just want games, sure. If you want to advance the DRM-free platform, probably not.

Personally, I began buying on GOG rather than Steam simply because I wanted to ensure that any games I purchased could be played offline. At the time I'd often spend weeks without a decent internet connection, and so I needed something that could be played without hassle. Now that that is no longer an issue, and I occasionally purchase from Steam (or receive games in bundles), I still prefer GOG and its offline installers. Reminds me of the good old days, when developers didn't assume you had constant access to a stable internet connection (or even the internet in general).

Amen to this. :)
Is it ok to buy bread in both ASDA and Morrision?

is it ok to like both Guiness and Murphy's?

is it ok to like both Alien and Blade Runner?

is it ok to think this topic is silly?

i only buy my games from Tony on the street corner. Nothing else, no one else, easy
I go where the games go.

So, yes - it's okay to like GOG, Steam, XBox Live, Xbox Game Pass, Epic, Origin, Battle.Net, Bethesda.Net, XFire (gone/RIP), UbiSoft Connect AKA UPlay, Raptr (gone/RIP), PSN, or any other service you can think of.
