mg1979: This way GOG risks to be a secondary market for older titles that have been milked already on Steam.
P1na: lol, risk he says... wasn't that basically GOG's main selling point? Yes that's true.. This discussion isn't going anywhere, anyway. I still wonder why "somebody" still insists in enforcing DRM if it's so completely useless, unless I'm missing something.

ET3D: [...] As long as DRM platforms have more features, there is no way you can tell people who want these features that DRM-free is better for them.
I'm pretty sure that I did not tell the OP or anyone else anything of the sort. What I'm saying is that if what they're looking for can't be offered without the use of DRM, they already have a choice of getting what they're looking for elsewhere, and I don't see a valid point in them coming here and saying "let's be OK with dropping DRM-free if that gives us more features/convenience/whatever, like this other store/service/whatever". On the contrary, I see it as wanting to take away one of the very few options those of us who'd rather have DRM-free over bragging about our game achievements or whatever other convenience have, just so they can have one more choice.
But reading some of the OP's other posts, it looks to me that he's just here to plain and simple advocate in favour of DRM, which makes me sceptical. Not interested in playing their game, so I'm out.

tinyE: I'm tired of it too. And I'm also getting tired of repeating to these folks that not everyone has unlimited bandwidth.
True story, my brother told me my limited bandwidth was a flimsy excuse because all I need to do is just move. :P I wonder how fast his middle finger would go up if I told him to "just move". XD
lepke1979: Are we at the point now where limited internet is a valid reason to move? First world problems, I guess... All of my problems are 1st world problems and I'm not about to lost track of the fact that I'm one of the luckiest people on the planet. :D

No idea. appearances? But I've been a pirate for many years, and it only bothered me once I started paying for games.

Games bought on Steam don't need to be tied to Steam to work. Some are perfectly playable without it. There's a list somewhere but I know Far Cry 2 is one. There's no advantage to Steam that requires DRM. In other words, there's no advantage to Steam that GOG couldn't implement in Galaxy given the time and talent to do so.
Is DRM that bad? Well I've never not been able to play a game because it's DRM-free. I've never had to jump through hoops for 3/4 of an hour to get a game working because it's DRM-free. I've never had malicious files installed on my computer that cannot be removed without formatting because I've installed DRM-free games.

ET3D: I was using the collective 'you'. What I meant is that if the general desire is to draw people away from DRM platforms, then the DRM-free platforms need to offer at least as many features.
[...])
Well, you did address that to me, and I can't speak for the collective 'you', only for myself. [...])
I have no issue with DRM-free offering features people ask for, even if I don't care for them, so long as DRM-free isn't compromised or dropped. If what they're asking for is not doable without using DRM, and they argue in favour of it, then I have an issue, because that's already available elsewhere, and plenty, while DRM-free is not. I don't think that my position was unclear in my previous post.
ET3D: [...]
(I'm not playing a "you said" game. A discussion which labels participants as this or that is worthless. A discussion is only worth having if it advances the understanding of the issue.)
So in general you see DRM as perfectly fine for most consumers. (In this case I'm not using a general 'you'.)
But now you do play that game? Pretty sure I didn't say that either, and I have to wonder why you're twisting what I said.(I'm not playing a "you said" game. Yes, that was quite stupid. It was meant to end with a question mark, not a full stop. I don't think there's anything that can be achieved by DRM directly. The only thing DRM does is try to enforce things. You can do without DRM anything you can do with DRM, and it would work as long as most people are trustworthy. As long as people are willing to run a client there's no problem to do anything that a DRM client would achieve. It's simply that without DRM the client would be optional.

Ignorance. Either their own, or their attempt to keep others in the dark about the bad waste of money they've been guilty of for years now. Saying that DRM is useless after years of using it at great expense when the only thing it achieves is costing them custom is something that requires explanation.

Tizzysawr: I still use Nexus from time to time, I just wish more games used Steam Workshop and that it allowed for mods like the Skyrim Script Extender to be used there - Since it doesn't, I end up using both sites :P
Actually SKSE has been available on Steam for a while already: http://store.steampowered.com/app/365720/lepke1979

Well, I also don;t appreciate the censorship on workshop, and overall I don't think they have as many exclusives as Nexus.... But I never counted them.
