With all the controversy with Cyberpunk 2077 they might actually be losing money from all the refunds. Now they have the controversy with the CCP too... can't imagine them lasting much longer in this state.

On December 11 they already broke even, making back all expenses related to CP2077.

And if they had not bc. say they had to go back on many of the sales, read the report for the third quarter. Even with expenses for CP2077 and without income generated from preorders and sales of CP2077, the company had a solid third quarter, increasing revenue by 60% and a net profit of more than 6 million USD in a single quarter.

I don't think they are broke. Not now, not anytime soon.

Their revenue exceeded the development cost some time ago. I doubt that 1 or 2 million less sold copies is going to hit them too, too hard.

Once they fix the game, most people will kiss their feet again, even though Cyberpunk is nothing like they promised, oh well.

The game is going to return to the PS-Store as well at some point, maybe not for PS4 owners but for the PS5 crowd.

How does that math work? If someone preorders a game and REFUNDS the game then CDPR keeps the money?

no but it will hurt investors they pull money quicker then you can breath.

Again, how does THAT MATH WORK? Losing 50% of your income doesn't mean you have enough money to earn a profit. CDPR earned enough money from pre-orders to pay for development we can accept. they lose all the console players... and magically are still swimming in money because you don't know math?

It's not 50%, but more like around 20-25% that make up the PS sales. And not everybody is going to file for a refund.

I had the same thought as the OP when I heard about the Cyberpunk delisting. It can be extremely difficult for a company to continue moving forward without declaring bankruptcy and going through a re-org. It's just as much about optics as it is about turning a profit on a single large product line, like Cyberpunk.

Even if CDPR does declare bankruptcy, I think the brands, publisher base, and customer base are worth more than enough for an investor to keep the products alive. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to hear Epic are watching carefully.
