Is there an easy way to find out if a game is of the latest version compared to the other platforms? It seems you have to be careful about this on GOG...

I usually search the game on GOGdb and check the update history on the "Builds" tab, and then check the same game's update history by clicking on "View Update History" on its Steam game page.

Example:

https://www.gogdb.org/product/1686426343#builds

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/253230?updates=true

Though that can sometimes be a rough way of telling for some games.

Thank you Lucian_Galca. I was wondering exactly the same as Snowslinger
It is often the case, from what I have read in reviews here over the years, that a GOG version is not fully up-to-date compared to the latest Steam version ... and sometimes updates differ, so hard to tell.

Add to that the fact that some updates are Steam concentric, so not needed at GOG, especially sometimes when it relates to multiplayer, which may not even be supported in the GOG versions.

It seems that doing a GOG version update sometimes, is too hard or time consuming for the DEV ... or they just keep putting it off for that spare moment that never happens and then gets forgotten.

GOG customers are a quite small market share compared to Steam ones.
