Join us in Cologne on Thursday, August 14!

GamesCom Cologne is the biggest European games industry show and we know that many of you will be attending. We'd love to take this chance to meet you! Alas, we think that the middle of a busy trade show is not the best place to hang out with you, dear Goggers. We'd like to meet you in a more friendly venue and spend some time chatting, sharing a few beers, and playing some games in a relaxed atmosphere of a gamer-friendly pub. So, we'd like to heartily invite you to the GOG.com Party that will be taking place on Thursday, August 14, from 5:00PM to 10:00PM local time, in one of the local pubs not far from where the GamesCom main show will be located.

We've got 70 open spots. To reserve yours, contact us at party@gog.com and give us your full name and the GOG.com username (or usernames, if you're bringing a friend) and the time we can expect your arrival. We'll ask you to RSVP before the event, to make sure you didn't change your mind about attending. We'll let you know if you made the main guest list. If you're late to register, we'll get your name on our backup list and contact you if a spot opens on the main one.

We have some cool activities planned for you! You'll be able to play some games in our NVidia-powered GOG arcade. We've got lots of GOG goodies to give away. There'll be prizes to win in contests. Beer and soft drinks will be waiting at the bar for all of our guests! A big chunk of GOG.com Team is going to be there, and we look forward to meeting you all in person. If you know you'll be attending, please also drop a note here in the forums below, so all other Goggers will know they'll get to hang out with you! Also, feel free to make suggestions as to what would you like to see in the GOG.com Party.

This invitation will be updated with new details as we get closer to GamesCom, so make sure to drop by every now and then! Bottom line: party with GOG.com at GamesCom, Thursday, August 14, 5:00PM-10:00PM. Great fun, free beer, GOG goodies for our guests. 70 open spots, reserve yours at party@gog.com.
The real question is: Will we see DRM Free Coffee and Pizza at the party?
It would be easier to arrive at cologne when more people make small groups and travel together.

For example:

4 persons from the same region travel to cologne in one car, together.

I´ve got 3 seats left in my car and I would pick up 3 persons and take them with me to cologne.

@ the lucky GoG party people:

From which city do you travel to cologne?

Is someone from the ruhr-area (Ruhrgebiet)?

You are not passing Wuppertal, by chance?
I'm driving from Darmstadt (near Frankfurt am Main), if... I finally get an invite/reply :)
I'm coming from Hamburg but I'm not sure yet if I'll have a seat left. Or if the car is repaired until then. :-(

But for others coming "from the North" I'd like to point out this train connection:

which is quite cheap.

G-Doc: I'll get back to you all via e-mail come this Monday.
After Monday is before Monday :)
Should I resend the email?

Well, I can pick you up in the near of Wuppertal. If you want.

Greetings from Essen.

I'm just watching the Preview of Guardians of the Galaxy.
2 seats left in my car.

Does any one else need to get pick up?

I'm driving from Dortmund to Cologne.
Giving this a bump!
Nice, do you also have a stand at GamesCom itself as I will arrive on Friday so can't make it for the party.

Devata: Nice, do you also have a stand at GamesCom itself as I am will be there not until Friday.
There is a stand for The Witcher and one for CD Project, I believe, but none for GOG.
One is in building 4.1, stand no. B043 C042,
the other in building 7.1, stand no. B032.
Both are near the center of the respective builiding.
I don't know which is which though or if people from GOG will be present at any of those.

Edit: After giving it some thought, I'd say that the stand in building 7 is for The Witcher and the one in Building 4 is for CD Project because building 4 is only open for "business".

So, how is it going to be with confirming the reservation? Are the people who made it onto the main guest list going to get another email to answer to or do we have to send an email on our own accord?
I'm just asking because the party is already going to take place in a week. ;)
^
I'd also like to know, because I'm not going to be able to make it to Gamescom after all, so someone else should be able to get my spot.
Can't wait for this to happen but with the event being just a week away some more information on the event would be much appreciated! :)

I'm still waiting for a reply, after two emails and a PM.
So I still don't know if I made it on the list at all...
