It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Find what you're looking for faster, easier, and with style.

As some of you have already noticed, today we launched an overhauled navigation system for GOG.com. The goal is simple: to make it faster, simpler, and better for you to explore our store and find what you're looking for.

Browsing our catalog has never been easier: mouse over the Store tab for a neat dropdown menu that contains ongoing sales, a detailed breakdown of our games categories, and several top-tier suggestions.
To bring our games closer to you, we've also made several improvements to our search engine, so locating the title you're after should be much more straightforward now. Those accessing our store through mobile will notice that these changes have dramatically improved their experience, as well.

But that's not all! If you want to reach Support, interact with the Community, or manage your Account, you'll find that the intuitive dropdown menus make for a much more fluid experience, saving you time that could be spent playing your favorite games!

Your account name and avatar are now clearly visible on top at all times, so you can tell at a glance if you're logged in and on which account. Last but not least, redeeming gift codes and switching between languages or currencies is now more readily available with no need to scroll to the bottom of the page.

Enjoy!
New forum is a nightmare on mobile. Font keeps flickering between one and another. Lags haven't been fixed, posts endlessly spinning still not fixed.

truhlik: Just for info - not expecting that this will be ever fixed. Dropdown menu doesn't work in old Opera 12.xx.
If you hover mouse cursor over navigation menu only white triangle appears.
It's no longer a dropdown menu -- they've replaced it with a holographic popout menu. You should see it projected in front of your screen.
...You DO have a holography-capable 3D monitor, right? : )

Well they seemed to have now fixed the new release pictures (aka Outlast 2 and Inside) not taking up the entire section and leaving a thin transparent bar under the pic.

EDIT: Also if I go up to store, and hover over say new releases...sometimes "Haunted Horror's Sale". "Outlast 2", "Little Nightmares + Inside", "New releases", "Bestsellers" & "On sale now" all disappear and you can't see them for a few seconds.
This still happens though, I wish I could get a picture to better clarity what is happening but it seems to happen randomly and way to fast to catch. Only way I could probably get it is on video by capturing Firefox while browsing the site.

A quick word of advice. If you're unhappy with the new search field and you're using Firefox, Chrome/ium, or Internet Explorer, you can add GOG to your browser's search engines: http://mycroftproject.com/search-engines.html?name=gog.com

edit: Chrome/ium and IE added

Good job adding proper notification flags back in. And congratulations on rediscovering the colourful GOG gradients and applying them to the logo. Much nicer.

Oh, and that jagged purple cruft is gone from the top, too. So someone there is at least listening in lurker mode. ^_^

EDIT: Ah, some of the aforementioned changes might actually be due to the script plugins I have installed for GOG. I noticed the purple cruft trying to reassert itself on new page loads.

Interesting that the catalog is now, by default, set to "newest added" games instead of "bestsellers". I guess this is to push sales of new titles, especially brand new games?
Mobile version is a mess (at least under Firefox). Black bar menus going all over the place when zooming in (see pic 1), longer loading times, no discount percentage next to the price (see pic 2), lack of notifications, links opening in the same tab (instead of a new tab) and who knows what else.
On the other hand, desktop version seems snappier than before.

EPurpl3: the other version was made with angular too, nothing new here, from this point of view
avatar
Alaric.us: I may very well be wrong here, but didn't the old version only use Angular for the main site, not for the forums? If so, then perhaps they are bringing the forums into the fold as well. If I'm wrong then ... well then the forums just load slower right now for no good reason.

Either way, I don't claim to have an understanding of the current architecture. Obviously only the employees know what the actual structure and plans for any future development are.
it seams to me that they have only changed the menu, and they have moved some buttons and banners in the menu, probably they will not change anything else any time soon
My issue on the mobile phone is that when I only want to scroll down I have to avoid touching any link. Only touching an holding the finger on a link to scroll down or up results in unintentionally opening that link.

The actual default sort order hasn't changed; they simply chose to fill the dropdown "Store" menu with links that sort a different way. But clicking "clear filters" still reverts it to "sort by bestselling", and, for that matter, clicking "Store" itself on the new nav bar will take you to the unfiltered, default-sorted Games page (sorted by "bestselling"), just like clicking "Games" did on the old menu bar.

They are ALL part of Barefoot Essentials - you are definitely barking up the wrong tree here :)

Aye, it seems the forums are still needing much improvement. I don't seem to be getting notifications of game updates anymore, either.

xyem: Oh look. GOG have changed the site again to make it fancy.. and now it's worse. Who would have guessed that would happen?

Just slide your pointer back and forth across the navigation bar. Sometimes, the "fade out overlay" that makes the site darker will go away and come back between menu items (yay, flickering!) or sometimes it'll go away and not come back, even though the menu is still open.

And when the fade overlay is on, it doesn't even apply properly (see red box).
avatar
Barefoot_Monkey: It's the same with all the headings in the topic list pages. Many elements have a higher z-index than the overlay. In fact, the z-index for .menu-overlay is only 2; it should go up to 11 to avoid this sort of effect.

By the way, it's good to see you again :)
not enough 11, I made little research and was found, that must be .menu-overlay {z-index: 331;}.

Hey! Just wanted to ask, has the "forum replies" and "chat" notifications been fixed yet?

no

The theory is that this is not a bug but rather something deliberately offered only to Galaxy users.
