I was running a very old version of the downloader (0.9 ish, pre-3.0) and my recent downloads were not finding the game installers properly. So I downloaded the latest stable and it installed without uninstalling the old version. It looks like the installer won't update the appropriate regkey for the gogdownloader url provider if the key already exists, so I had to manually change HKEY_USERS\<usersid>\Software\Classes\gogdownloader\shell\open\command\(Default) from the old value of GOGDownloader.exe to the new GOG.com Downloader.exe

Seems like you need to update the behavior of your installer.
1. Is there a Mac version of the newest beta downloader?

2. I'm getting off to a dodgy start with GOG seeming to pause and need restarting every so often. The next 20GB is going to be lots of fun.

3. Wish you folks could seed a torrent.
Edit: Not using the downloader anymore until another stable or beta release that fixes the issues. I'll put it in another post due to character limit.

Having an issue with downloads not progressing at all after a certain time period (99% or just any percentage in the download).

-Tried running the installer and seems to start up just fine and no integrity check errors. -Also tried pausing and resuming but just stays put not doing anything.
-Also tried logging out and logging back in, nothing happens.
-Last thing I did was log out ,removing the log file, and clicked the download button on my games page using the downloader; and that pretty much worked and the downloader tells me it's completed.
-Edit: Also tried the same thing without removing the log and strangely enough it works...I'm just wondering if the games I did download are actually any good.

I'm using the current beta release, which right now works better (faster speeds) and seems to not corrupt during download (frequent checksum errors when using stable release).

hedwards: Downloader isn't working for me. It looks like a time out problem. Is there any way you guys can just give us a permanent URL to download these games from and just hide it behind a password? That way we can use FDM and have it restore from the middle if need be.

Szulak: Could you try beta version of GOG Downloader?
You can download beta version of GOG Downloader from link below.
http://static.gog.com/download/d3/beta/Setup_Downloader_3.2.21.exe
It worked, however it sat around doing absolutely nothing for a half hour after it was done downloading, but didn't give any indication that it was done. It looked like it still had 50mb or so left to download.

Other than that, it worked just fine. Download speeds roughly what they should be and the installer was successfully downloaded.
Hi, I have problem with GOG.com downloader. I have bought some games on GOG.com. Yesterday I wanted to download Lionheart. Ok. I have downloaded (gog downloader) and logged but I have one problem. I don't see any game in Gog Downloader. How to fix this problem ? Anybody helps me ?
PS. I'm from Poland so my English isn't so good.
PS2. I've reinstalled it two times and it's not working.
Greetings from Poland;)

Once you've installed the downloader, go to the "My Account" page, and you should be able to see your game shelf. Click on the game you want to download, make sure the "Downloader" button is set to "On", and click on "Installer" (or however it's called). That should add the game to the downloader, and you should be able to download it without problems.
If you do encounter problems, post in this thread, and in the meantime, set downloader to "Off" and you should be able to download through your browser.
Enjoy your games.
JMich, thank you. I forgot about this option. Problem solved

Szulak: Temporary solution for this issue is adding GOG Downloader to safe list. Here is detailed instruction how to do it:

Thanks for the reply. However, the temporary solution you are referring to is about adding a trusted program to the exception list. I can't consider a program apparently containing a malicious, information stealing Trojan virus "trusted." Far from it. Therefore this solution is unacceptable, period.
I encounter new problems trying to download two newly purchased games using the 3.2.14.0 version of the downloader, and coincidentally they both have the same 2.0-something version of the installer. My first encounter was when I tried to download NOX yesterday, which at first downloaded normally, until after several minutes later, it jumped right to the very near the end of the installation, which seems like it was about to complete downloading, only to have an error after the download gauge reached the end, and I have an incomplete installer.

Been trying to redownload many times afterwards, still got the same problem. I disabled the downloader and downloaded using Free Download Manager, also failed because somehow my Avast detect the file as trojan, and after disabling Avast and using my browser (IE9) to download the file, finally I acquire the file (only to later discover that, after all the troubles, I cannot run NOX in my laptop :'( , but that besides the point).

And now, I am currently downloading LIONHEART (also the 2.0 version of the intaller) using GOG downloader, and it seems that, while still not finished, it will have the same problem. The download meter suddenly jumped right to near the end, and I am sure when it is "finished", it will be the incomplete file, like my experience while downloading NOX installer. I am not sure whether I will encounter the same problem if I redownload my other games that have the old (1.0) version of the installer now, since that is not the case for me last week.

Edit: Just finished downloading. Yep, got error. It says "Checksum error on chunk 1, please contact support!". I believe it was a different error when I downloaded NOX yesterday, but the end result is still the same.

Then you shouldn't' be installing it at all. Antivirus software is hit or miss. If you aren't confident enough to list it that way, then you probably shouldn't be installing it anyways as antimalware generally doesn't pick things up until after people have reported it and there are frequent false positives.

YMMV, slippery when wet, beyond here be dragons.
I know this is unrelated, since this thread is about the DOWNLOADER, not the INSTALLER, but I don't know where to ask so I ask here. What is up with the new installer (ver. 2.0.0 something) for certain games? I cannot set the installer to install on my previous folder since now the installer cannot have "illegal characters" such as ., ( and ), since my previous installed games were in "X:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com", but now I cannot reinstall in my previous folders that has all my save files, and I have to manually move the files. This is really inconveniencing. I hope something should be done about this.

Just use junction to point from the saves directory in the new folder to the saves directory in the old folder. But, really, games shouldn't be saving their saves in the install directory anyways.

Well , as far i know, there's no virus / trojan or whatever nasty.... it's probably a false positive or your Antivirus is too sensitive. For the record i tested the file witth Kaspersky Antiviurs 2012 -> nothing wrong. .However i understand ur concern.

I have forwared this issue to appropriate people. Obviously, it is false positive report, anyway there is nothing what we can do fix it now.
