It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Feature request: Display download size in every entry at all times, rather than showing in one only when it's downloading.
Feature Request: Integration of Anti Virus programs to check downloads. Preferable like in Mozilla Firefox, but command line option will do for me also.

You want them to integrate every single AV out there into their little program? o.0

Just schedule your AV to scan the folder where your games are downloaded to, once a day would be fine. If you're big on command line then you could set it up whenever a program was downloaded although that could interfere with continued downloading if there's a queue

Most antivirus software has some command line option to scan a file or some other way to invoke a scan from an external application, building a list of a few (or many) common antivirus applications and run the neccesary command(s) when a file has been downloaded doesn't take a lot of space (but takes some time figuring out how to invoke a scan from each of the AV's that would be supported).

On the other hand, since the downloader cannot be used to fetch arbitrary files (unlike the web browser or a third-party donload manager), but only games accessible from your account, and the files are already checked before being uploaded to the servers, there is little use of checking them again.

So Ive started to re-downloading my entire collection for the patch update notification... 87GB of data... since I'll be using the native naming convention I'm hoping I'll never need to do this again to receive updates and notices ^_^

Modern anti-virus scans all new files on download... and besides do you really think you are going to get a virus from GOG.com... that just wont be happening...

if you need a freeware one check out Microsoft Security Essentials or Comodo Internet Security.

SoanoS: Not sure if related but I am using GoG Downloader 3.0.25 (Stable) and I keep getting a dialog box with following:

************** Exception Text **************
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at GOGCompanionApp.AppWindow.NotificationsTimer_Tick(Object obj, EventArgs e)
at System.Windows.Forms.Timer.OnTick(EventArgs e)
at System.Windows.Forms.Timer.TimerNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

<clipped details>

I have Windows 7 X64 Ultimate.
I'm having the exact same issue.. Win7 Ultimate x64 also.. All patches from Microsoft installed.. The window that displays the error is from Microsoft .NET Framework and if i click continue it will keep popping up periodically..
Why can't I see the size of files in the list while they're paused?

Because Vagabond's feature request six posts up hasn't been completed yet?

Yeah, but doing a check to find out which AV they're using, locating the command line file, then doing a scan which you'll already have done before hosting the files and doing that for each chunk that's downloaded. That and the list needs to include at least fifteen programs, possibly twenty to twenty-five. A fair amount of work. :S Assuming it's not a shareware/trial program with command line disabled. lol

Could hire an intern I guess

Yeah, a week's worth. The important part was the second part of the post you quoted though: it's unneccesary since you cannot fetch arbitrary files (unlike a web browser, instant messager, or torrent client, where anything can pass through).
I'd left the Downloader running for a while, and it had nine items on it when I came back to find it had crashed. I opened back up and it had automatically cleared five of those items. Apparently it still runs after WER reports that it "has stopped working". The option to "debug" afterwards is what really locks up.

Maybe I missed it but did they actually mention that you will need to redownload everything to benefit of the "update notification" feature ?

If it's really needed then, If I were you, I would at least wait for the new downloader to be out of beta first.
Feature request

Add the possibility to choose a network UNC path (i.e. type it), my downloaded GoG games collection is on a NAS not on a local drive nor a network mapped one.

I managed to get it working by manually editing the "HKCU\Software\GOG.com\DownloadPath" registry entry so it's just an Setting UI limitation not a limitation of the downloader itself.

EDIT: Actually it doesn't work I have a "not enough disk space" when I try to download anything new.

Patch notifications will pushed from the My Account to the Downloader when a patch (or other extra) will be added to a game you've purchased earlier. You don't need to have your entire My Account downloaded for this to work.

Anyone else getting fun Virus notifications from AVG on the new downloader? (Which by the way is ugly, which switch from the sleek black look?) I was getting any yesterday but today...
