It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

You want to be starting a ticket with GOG Support for these issues, not posting here in the Downloader forum. This forum is about the downloader program itself, not website issues in general.

angeli: Hi, my 5 cents here (hope it was not posted before):

1. Version 3.0.52
2. Win XP Pro 32bit SP3
3. English
4. Firefox 15.0.1 English
5. No log created.
6. When I install the downloader using "Run As Administrator" option
from casual user account - install 100% successful.
Then it did not even bother to start, throwing an error immediately.
System event viewer reported:
EventType clr20r3, P1 gog.com downloader.exe, P2 3.0.52.0, P3 5006c948,
P4 microsoft.visualbasic, P5 8.0.0.0, P6 4333d6d8, P7 87, P8 52,
P9 system.io.filenotfoundexception, P10 NIL.

However when I install from Administrator account directly it works 100% ok for all users.

But if I, very fast, add a lot of items into the queue the downloader usually,
but not always crashes.

Hope it helps anybody :)
Could you attach downloader log contents if possible? Log file is located as follows:
Windows 7/Vista - C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\GOG.com
Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\GOG.com

The current version of the downloader is known to have trouble parsing special characters in email and password. Assuming your email is normal looking (aka only letters and numbers), try changing your password. It is known and Fallen_Zen has said that it will be fixed in a newer build.

Hello, don't think I've seen you in the forums yet. So, usual questions:
Who are you? What is your job at GOG.com? Why haven't you introduced yourself yet? Or did I miss your hello post?
Welcome on GOG.com forums, we don't bite (hard). :)

No idea, you'll have to wait for Fallen_Zen to answer that (or maybe aszulakiewicz).

Witch port does the downloader use, just curious ?

antonywarrick: Witch port does the downloader use, just curious ?
It uses port 80.
Out of curiosity, how's progress on the Web Interface?
Idea for feature requests:

- if the scrollbar of the downloader is at the bottom and a new game is remotely added to the queue, don't just add to the list but also scroll to the end

- since there is always just one file to be downloaded at the same time, within the downloader, make it a "position: fixed". I.e., always show the current download fixed at the top of the window, right below the buttons; i.e. exclude it from the scrollable view. That way, if you've a long download list, you will always see your current dowload
- be able to auto-resume. it's not helpful when entries show e.g. "Unable to fetch data, try again later!" when there's no possibility to do anything here. Right clicking on such an entry I can remove it or open it's folder, but that's it. I think there should be a button at the top "resume cancelled downloads" or similar

(Edit: ops, I thought consecutive posts get merged automatically)

- when I'm downloading like a boss, my connections is saturated at 2MB/s. If I add something to the queue it gets picked up but as long as the saturation of the bandwith is given, the possibility is pretty high that the downloader can't download anything else, i.e. will get timeouts. That why I got the "unable to fetch data" message above. Which makes adding entries to the queue useless, because they will likely be in a stale state and never automatically retried

- I couldn't add more entries remotely to the downloader once I had stale entries due "couldn't fetch data"; had to restart downloader

- Please remember window position and dimensions when (re-)starting the downloader

- Being able to throttle the download would be very nice

The non-beta consistently does not work for me, over several reinstalls with various versions of Windows 8, nothing happens when I try to add downloads. The beta is fine however.
Btw I'd like it to recognize already downloaded files in its folder, and perhaps only download changed files in the event of updates. I format quite often and usually keep the downloaded files in a folder to quickly reinstall after a format.
Oh and how about setting a default install folder? Oh and batch reinstalls..? :D

i7 960, 5970 win8 (enterprise)18gb ram and firefox 15.01 system btw.
