Pay with one click, avoid additional bank fees, and track your gaming budget!

Today, we're rolling out the GOG Wallet, a highly-requested quality-of-life feature aimed at gamers who frequently face international bank fees, use pre-paid debit cards, or prefer the extra convenience and control over their budget.

The GOG Wallet is designed to be user-friendly and flexible: top-up your Wallet with any amount between 5 USD and 500 USD (or the local equivalent) using any payment method; if you're using a pre-paid card, or you're just a bit short on Wallet funds, you can easily combine GOG Wallet funds with other payment methods during checkout. It's easy, fast, and totally safe.

Additionally, any store credit earned with the Fair Price Package (if a product costs more in your country than in the US, we always make up the difference) will now be automatically added to your GOG Wallet funds. Nobody likes to take time out of their gaming to do math, so we're doing it for you!

To kickstart your GOG Wallet and learn about the details, make your way to <span class="bold">www.gog.com/wallet</span>.
A nice feature to have, I guess, despite the fact that I won't use it, ever.
But it will make a lot of people happy so thanks for this, gog!

Pheace: My first thought was why is the upper limit so freaking high? Sure, on Steam that kind of makes sense with the community market, but on GOG?

But yeah, first step in a grander plan perhaps ;)

Nice, will enjoy the rise in hacked accounts, fraudulent games appearing everywhere. Because typing 16 numbers each time you purchase is just way to much effort. Another feature that I will never use.
Nice! It should prove very handy during sales.

There's something to be said for adding wallet if you're expecting to be making a ton of tiny transactions (say in a large sale with changing deals). Some payment methods trigger alerts when that happens.

That or perhaps for some people it's easier to control how much they spend if they front load a wallet rather than use a card that has no (such) limit. Or if you have a kid with an account it's easier to load their wallet.

A good point, whether you have your payment info saved or not, a loaded wallet is an added reason to hijack accounts now.

Shame its broken for anyone who clears cache on exit. 2step authentication would be marvelous, on account changes, however the broken implementation now means it is unusable. Which will also combine nicely with this new release, will make hackers worldwide very happy :o(

thank you, i found it.

But i have another question, i assume a code like steam sends will arrive in the mail , but free mail services , well are often slow, or 'messed up' which makes it hard to do anything, usually we have to wait before its fixed, and i dont have a modern mobile that allows me to receive mails or other stuff , it is quite old.

So my question is, when i login in, i have to get the code otherwise i cant get in, but what if mail will be down, for a long while? it can happen and then i guess i wont be able to loginto my gog , and maybe miss some events or sales because i have to rely on my free mail.
Unless i can add store credit and disable the 2step login after i upgraded my wallet, but i assume the wallet always needs 2step verificaition set as active?

Some countries have some difficulties with that (like people from Greece a few month ago that had real trouble buying on GOG). So I guess that's

I can also see that thing be used as a "gaming budget" app. Put 50$ before the sales, and avoid getting wild with your credit card? ^^
I like the idea.

Does it come in black leather, and fit in my back pocket, if it did, I'd get one.
To be honest though I'd prefer a GOG hoody, or T-Shirt.

Otherwise, I'm not interested, as long as like Galaxy it's optional, I will just ignore it.

I'm here for ond thing, ganes with an offline installer, I detest store clients and everything associated with them.
Including so called online games, if the games online, it should have the functionality as part of the game.
Designed specifically for the games requirements.

I only want the games, isolated and complete, nothing more than that.

QUESTION to GOG,
will this finally mean the end of being forced to use our Store Credits during big sales? Whenever one was on, we HAD to use the store credits as the choice was greyed out. Very annoying.

Thats would be very nice, but i assume we need to have the 2step activated in order to make use of the wallet, i wonderred why but now i get it, it helps protecting the account better and now there's cash on it it gets even more attractive, but i assume only real cash transactions can be used to fill the wallet? i think steam only allows real money (cards and cheques) to fill up the wallet so i assume gog also only has cards allowed to fill up the wallet?

Well yeah, but the title says "the simplest way to pay" which is just not true.
