Pay with one click, avoid additional bank fees, and track your gaming budget!

Today, we're rolling out the GOG Wallet, a highly-requested quality-of-life feature aimed at gamers who frequently face international bank fees, use pre-paid debit cards, or prefer the extra convenience and control over their budget.

The GOG Wallet is designed to be user-friendly and flexible: top-up your Wallet with any amount between 5 USD and 500 USD (or the local equivalent) using any payment method; if you're using a pre-paid card, or you're just a bit short on Wallet funds, you can easily combine GOG Wallet funds with other payment methods during checkout. It's easy, fast, and totally safe.

Additionally, any store credit earned with the Fair Price Package (if a product costs more in your country than in the US, we always make up the difference) will now be automatically added to your GOG Wallet funds. Nobody likes to take time out of their gaming to do math, so we're doing it for you!

To kickstart your GOG Wallet and learn about the details, make your way to www.gog.com/wallet.
good
Now, what about wallet_connect? I would gladly get rid of eurogabens.. ; )
Adding custom amount to gog_wallet would be great as well.

moonshineshadow: Oh I totally forgot about that. Thanks for reminding me :D
"Fun" times ;-)
Oh lol, interesting event.
And I like such "historical" pages XD
seems like gog is going to release pay2win shit
It might prove useful if funds are really valid indefinitely since even prepaid cards expire sooner or later and things like paysafe or paypal has their internal fee.

You can already do so. From 5 to 500.
If nothing else, wallet made it a bit easier to keep track of how much credit i got from the fair price package. Tbh, i tought the total would be more by now.
low rated
In what way is GoG any different from steam? How long before Galaxy becomes mandatory? In 5-10 years, GoG is going to be hated and Im going to say "no sh!t, thats what I said years ago."

zlep: I've always detested that Humble makes it super-easy for a hacker to delete bought games (presumably to deter people from sharing their games pages). I find the possibility of accidental or malicious deletion very scary. :-( (This is possibly an indication that I face little real danger in my daily life... ^_^)
AFAIK, you can only delete a purchased product (game/bundle) if you haven't "claimed" it (connected it to your Humble account) - as soon as you "claim" it, the "delete this order" link disappears.

Or is there another way (besides contacting support)?

Steam, OTOH, has given users a way to completely remove titles from their library some months ago (I think)...

What's with the virtual items? Is it going to be some games with microtransactions?

Don't do that, GOG. have you seen the reviews of the new Deus EX: Mankind divided? The game was practically smashed into the ground because of that. ´Before the gamers even detected the flaw of missing a proper ending.

That is, that some of the gamers think about ingame purchases and microtransactions in AAA or complete games.

After you get that picture, imagine your customers, buyers of GOOD OLD GAMES, without any microtransactios within them. I think many of us, who playing since the dawn of computer gaming, despise this despicable business practice from the botton of our hearts. Think about the backlash you WILL get. I hope you have no delusions about the acceptance of this business model here.

And then, drop the idea immediatly.

Also a most requested feature from at least your German customers: An age check verifiaction system. It's not fun if you can only buy half of the games here.

Yes, I know, our laws are stupid, but can be solved with a simple age verification. It's not our fault that gog is, not like for example amazon, so spineless.

It certainly sounds like it, doesn't it? It also talks about "virtual currency", specifically saying it has no real-world value, so that's not wallet credit they're talking about. I can't think of anything it could mean other than microtransactions. :-(

Which prompts the question - what game would GOG consider so vital to have here that it would be worth the backlash? Are they desperate enough to push Galaxy that they're prepared to add FTP games to pull more people in?

I suspect we're headed for "interesting times", in the Good News sense...
