UPDATE: Last chance to grab your games from the original list! Make sure to get them until June 8, 12:59 PM UTC.

Want more games? We've got more games! Three new titles are now available through GOG Connect:

- Kona
- Defender's Quest
- Door Kickers

You can get them until June 13, 1:59 PM UTC.

Today, we're launching a new program called GOG Connect. The premise is simple: connect your Steam account and add your eligible games to your GOG.com library.

Whether you're checking us out for the first time or have been with us for a while, GOG Connect gets you DRM-free versions of your games, digital extras, and a whole lot of freedom of choice (like whether you go with the GOG Galaxy client or not). It gets you our take on game ownership, and we say: why buy the games more than once?

Thanks to our awesome partners including Deep Silver, Harebrained Schemes, Jonathan Blow's Number None, TaleWorlds and more, you can now add more than 20 games to your GOG.com library if you previously purchased them on Steam.

The full list of games will always be available on connect.gog.com, starting with these and more:

- The Witness
- FTL: Faster Than Light
- The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
- Galactic Civilizations 3
- Trine Enchanted Edition
- Saints Row 2
- Shadowrun Returns
- The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

While GOG Connect will stick around, the available games will come and go. These are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned as we bring new titles onboard in the future (and grab your copies before they go away)!

For a bit more library-building, a bunch of our favorite titles will also be discounted up to -85% all week long, including The Witness, Saints Row: The Third, System Shock 2 and more. You can check out all the deals here. The sale will last until June 6, 12:59 PM UTC.

bgh251f2: I have a problem, I connected but after a while I had to reload the page and all games that I could add vanished, what happened? will I be able to do it yet?
avatar
blakstar: Did you manage to click the button that said "Add [x] games?"

Just asking, because I got a spinning circle for ages, only to find out that the page had stalled, and the games had been added to my account.
No, I just clicked on a game and everything vanished and I had tried returning to the page.

Getcomposted: Remember to change your settings back once everything works and you get the games.
After you get the games. Hmm. It makes sense to do that, go back to private or friends only afterwards, though I imagine that when new games are added and you have them on Steam it'd be necessary to switch back to public in order for GOG to see them...unless of course it reads and stores your entirely library? That would make sense. But then of course you may buy more games in Steam and the stored list becomes out of date. So either way, unless I'm misunderstanding something (easily possible) there could be a bit of switching back and forth between public/private over the course of time.

KillingMachine: This seems more beneficial to Steam than GOG. There's no real incentive to buy your games from GOG instead of Steam in this scenario. If it went both ways and you also got a Steam copy when buying from GOG, that would've given you reason to buy from here. The way it's currently set up only seems to encourage customers to buy from Steam instead of GOG.
Well I would buy more games on GOG if it made sense. Usually a 75% offer on Gog is more expensive than a 50% one on Steam because of regional pricing.

Miljac: Is your profile set to public? If not, set it to public. If it is, try loging out, and than back in, it helped in my case, or at least I thought it did, and it just worked by itself :)
Yea, I forgot about public thing, thx. :)

I'm hoping that GOG sorts this syncing thing out at some point in time, otherwise jumping from private profile to public to private could get annoying after a while!

tiaxanderson: I think mad props to the GoG team and all devs willing to co-operate with this crazy idea. Thank you.

Actually it does say what happens on the connect FAQ.
If for any reason the game is deleted from your Steam library it doesn't automatically get deleted from your GoG library, but GoG reserves the right to delete it.

Faenrir: Yeaaaah...no. You see, you didn't read my question. Read it again, try to understand it and then, if you have an answer, post again.
You still keep your games in your library, this program shouldn't affect your previous purchase here, in any case you should contact support about this issue (if it happens).

Faenrir: I have a question that's not in the FAQ...
What if i have a game both on GOG and Steam already, and i delete it on steam ?
Do i risk losing the game on gog as well ?
No, that's only for games you obtain through GOG Connect. Anything you got directly from GOG exists independently of Steam.

The reason for that revocation clause is because without it there would be a horrible loophole: people could buy games on Steam, redeem them on GOG, get a refund from Steam's no-questions-asked 2-hour-playtime policy, and still get to keep the game permanently.

Just OMG, WOW!. TY VERY MUCH.

Extremely amazing move. GOG FTW!
OK, it FINALLY connected!

Now I'll download that damn client, load in the Braid key, and see if it works.
I connected like 5 hours ago and it is still giving me the spinning wheel thing.
I still have the same error:

YOUR ACCOUNTS ARE BEING CONNECTED
Due to exceedingly high demand this may take up to several days, please check back later. Thank you for your patience.

Do I need to install the GOG Galaxy Client and then it works or is not needed at all?.

Thanks :(
It took me ages to set it up. But once it did...Two Worlds on GOG. One less game to require Steam.......a hundred and fifty more to go! Thank you, GOG. I appreciate this ballsy and caring move very much.

But...you might want to lessen the effect of these spinning circly things. It just contributed to today's theme (at least for me): LOADING BARS EVERYWHERE.

It recognized 2 of my steam games. Two worlds and shadowrun returns. But nothing is added to my gog library. I guess there is a queue?

I kind of said that earlier, but it's nice to have someone else back me up! :-)
Very interested in this new service, but have a question...

In your FAQ it says: "NOTE: Make sure your Steam Privacy Settings & Profile Status are set to public"

I keep my Steam account set to private. Would I only need to switch it to public briefly to make the connection, or does the Steam account need to remain public forever to keep access to connected games at GOG.com?

If I only need to set my steam account to public for the transfer and then swap it back, then I'm likely to give it a try. If I lose access to the GOG copies by switching the account back to private, I'll likely pass.
