Today, we're launching a new program called <span class="bold">GOG Connect</span>. The premise is simple: connect your Steam account and add your eligible games to your GOG.com library.

Whether you're checking us out for the first time or have been with us for a while, <span class="bold">GOG Connect</span> gets you DRM-free versions of your games, digital extras, and a whole lot of freedom of choice (like whether you go with the GOG Galaxy client or not). It gets you our take on game ownership, and we say: why buy the games more than once?

Gr8one: My gog and steam accounts are connected but I am getting no eligible games found. Is this just an issue with high demand and will be resolved later?
I'm getting a "4 games found" and a "This may take several days. Try back later." message.

I think mad props to the GoG team and all devs willing to co-operate with this crazy idea. Thank you.

What if i have a game both on GOG and Steam already, and i delete it on steam ?
Do i risk losing the game on gog as well ?
Actually it does say what happens on the connect FAQ.
If for any reason the game is deleted from your Steam library it doesn't automatically get deleted from your GoG library, but GoG reserves the right to delete it.

and apparently the gogbear at my post, so reposting:

i am all connected, and it said i had two titles to add. I hit ok, but it never told me which titles it added. I know one is Saint's Row 2, but when i look at my library, it is still not there. ?

or is it also gonna take a few days for the game to come over to my gog library too?

stryx: My GOG library actually is six times as big as my Steam library. So if a game is on Steam and on GOG, chances are I have it on GOG.
Ditto... well make it 8-9 times bigger. ;)

I'm there with 4 titles. It says 4, but not which ones. Plus, there's "Check back later." message.

Nonetheless, I think it's a cool little bonus on GOG's part. They didn't need to throw in Steam connectivity, yet they did. So I appreciate the gesture.

for me it says "ACCOUNTS CONNECTED" and that i had saints row 2 but now it's disappeared wtaf

it also said press the import button, but i couldn't see one anywhere

i guess we'll just have to wait a few days

As I understand it, the Steam API can only take so many requests each day, so everything gets queued up to be processed.

Okay, so I'm connected now and one game even appeared as available. Only after I clicked it to be added, it's disappeared and it's not in my library either. Now I'm only getting the text that it may take several days to look for eligible games due to the high demand.

Let's hope it happens before the offers expire lol

I have a problem, I connected but after a while I had to reload the page and all games that I could add vanished, what happened? will I be able to do it yet?

Did you manage to click the button that said "Add [x] games?"

Just asking, because I got a spinning circle for ages, only to find out that the page had stalled, and the games had been added to my account.

This seems more beneficial to Steam than GOG. There's no real incentive to buy your games from GOG instead of Steam in this scenario. If it went both ways and you also got a Steam copy when buying from GOG, that would've given you reason to buy from here. The way it's currently set up only seems to encourage customers to buy from Steam instead of GOG.

Yeaaaaaah...well it does :-) The FAQ specifically says a deleted game on Steam won't automatically be deleted from your GOG account. But it could be, or maybe not, they reserve the right to decide what to do.
To me that's the safest option, let's imagine you bought a game on Steam then on GOG (or the other way around, doesn't matter) then you delete it from Steam, GOG has no reason to delete it from GOG since you bought it from them as well.
However if you bought a game on Steam, connected it then deleted it from Steam, they might want to delete it from GOG...
