UPDATE: Last chance to grab your games from the original list! Make sure to get them until June 8, 12:59 PM UTC.

Want more games? We've got more games! Three new titles are now available through GOG Connect:

- Kona
- Defender's Quest
- Door Kickers

You can get them until June 13, 1:59 PM UTC.

Today, we're launching a new program called GOG Connect. The premise is simple: connect your Steam account and add your eligible games to your GOG.com library.

Whether you're checking us out for the first time or have been with us for a while, GOG Connect gets you DRM-free versions of your games, digital extras, and a whole lot of freedom of choice (like whether you go with the GOG Galaxy client or not). It gets you our take on game ownership, and we say: why buy the games more than once?

Thanks to our awesome partners including Deep Silver, Harebrained Schemes, Jonathan Blow's Number None, TaleWorlds and more, you can now add more than 20 games to your GOG.com library if you previously purchased them on Steam.

The full list of games will always be available on connect.gog.com, starting with these and more:

- The Witness
- FTL: Faster Than Light
- The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
- Galactic Civilizations 3
- Trine Enchanted Edition
- Saints Row 2
- Shadowrun Returns
- The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

While GOG Connect will stick around, the available games will come and go. These are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned as we bring new titles onboard in the future (and grab your copies before they go away)!

For a bit more library-building, a bunch of our favorite titles will also be discounted up to -85% all week long, including The Witness, Saints Row: The Third, System Shock 2 and more. You can check out all the deals here. The sale will last until June 6, 12:59 PM UTC.

Wow!

If the Humongous Complete Pack were involved ... ;)
I try to buy most of my games here instead of on Steam, so I don't expect to be using this on any games that already exist in both places. However, I do see this being useful to me as games on Steam are released on GOG. It would be awesome if I could use GOG Connect to get Saints Row 4 or Overlord 2 here.

Pheace: Ahaha, so much for all the people who rebought their games on GOG I guess? xD
Indeed. I feel a bit silly for specifically buying Saints Row 2 on GOG now when I already had it for Steam, but to be fair, most of the Steam versions I have there I actually got for GOG first - the Steam versions mostly came through bundles for me.

This is a great feature though and one I've been hoping for for a while now. Would be even better if was a reciprocal thing to enable the Steam versions of GOG games to be acquired as well (although that would further encourage the laziness of some devs here regarding patching) but this is great news as it stands.

proxymoron: This sounds great, GOG; thanks for working on this.

Will be interested to see how this works when you combine with Steam refunds, eg. User buys GOG Connect-compatible game on Steam and claims on GOG Connect; user then requests refund on Steam, but presumably still has full access on GOG Connect.

Hopefully there are some safeguards in place for this; I know it kind of goes against "DRM-free" to ask Steam if the licence is still valid but then it goes against developer confidence if there are potentially loopholes to people getting free access to full games.
They do state in the FAQ that they reserve the right to remove a game from GOG if it gets removed from your Steam profile at some point. The bigger question is if they're actually checking for this. (I doubt it, though long term they might do something about it once they realize people will abuse anything and the bigger titles start to hit Connect duplication)
That's fscking awesome GOG!

PainOfSalvation: Who knows, maybe they will allow it in the future?
GOG's program to redeem CD codes didn't get wide traction, so I have doubts that many developers will grant GOG the permission to let customers their games from Steam here.
So first you accidentally post it too early, remove it and then you're all 'hyped up' and post it again.. and it doesn't work.

Indeed, ideally once the game is purchased we'd be able to get it on either service.
Ah it finally works.
Such a great idea and service! Thank you GOG, despite none of my 569 Steam games being supported (yet). ;)

Edit: Ops. Hit the actualize button, it found 7 games. Neat!

I doubt Valve is involved. They're really not doing anything that requires Valve to be involved here. They're just using the Steam authentication thing which is a publicly available service to identify accounts and which games are linked. From that they're confirming which games you own on Steam. After that, all you need is the publisher's permission to activate those same games on GOG for the people who can confirm their ownership of the game that way.
I must admit I am astounded and absolutely grateful to GOG for this move. I can't say thanks enough!
There are many people who have multiple Steam accounts. Will this allow Goggers to add games from more than one Steam account? For instance, Steam account A has Saints Row 2, while Steam account B has FTL.
Wow, a really nice move doing this GOG! Thank you so much! :)
