UPDATE: Last chance to grab your games from the original list! Make sure to get them until June 8, 12:59 PM UTC.

Want more games? We've got more games! Three new titles are now available through GOG Connect:

- Kona
- Defender's Quest
- Door Kickers

You can get them until June 13, 1:59 PM UTC.

Today, we're launching a new program called GOG Connect. The premise is simple: connect your Steam account and add your eligible games to your GOG.com library.

Whether you're checking us out for the first time or have been with us for a while, GOG Connect gets you DRM-free versions of your games, digital extras, and a whole lot of freedom of choice (like whether you go with the GOG Galaxy client or not). It gets you our take on game ownership, and we say: why buy the games more than once?

Thanks to our awesome partners including Deep Silver, Harebrained Schemes, Jonathan Blow's Number None, TaleWorlds and more, you can now add more than 20 games to your GOG.com library if you previously purchased them on Steam.

The full list of games will always be available on connect.gog.com, starting with these and more:

- The Witness
- FTL: Faster Than Light
- The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
- Galactic Civilizations 3
- Trine Enchanted Edition
- Saints Row 2
- Shadowrun Returns
- The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

While GOG Connect will stick around, the available games will come and go. These are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned as we bring new titles onboard in the future (and grab your copies before they go away)!

For a bit more library-building, a bunch of our favorite titles will also be discounted up to -85% all week long, including The Witness, Saints Row: The Third, System Shock 2 and more. You can check out all the deals here. The sale will last until June 6, 12:59 PM UTC.

jamyskis: I'm getting

"ACCOUNTS CONNECTED
Looking for eligible games..."

then

"OOPS, SOMETHING WENT WRONG.
Please try again."
Better than mine "we could not reach the steam service please try again later". At least it does SOMETHING for you. This feels like a phone lottery where you have to try to get connected to win a prize and IO am dialing (refreshing) again and again and again and again .... luckily it does not cost the same phone fees.

I've only ever bought one game from Steam and that was only by accident (I bought a retail copy that need steam to work). I was not happy at all with my experience (having large amounts of my time to load part of the game, then load steam, then load game and finally having to download hours of updates for game( I bought a hard copy of the bloody thing)) and I've never gone back. I only buy games from GOG right now so....
B-b-but I already bought most of them (okay, worthy ones) here and there anyway! Oh well, no reason to worry then.

Still, awesome move. Now all we need is mutual acceptance and acknowledge of games owned at other platform, so recommendation process could be better filtered and more accurate.

I won't hold my breath for Team Seattle, who can't get I don't want game I put on blacklist like five times already. :D
It took a lot of tries, but I successfully added 3 games. Thanks for this feature GOG and partners.

Marioface5: This is interesting, but I have to wonder if this will help GOG sales or hinder them. On the one hand, it could get more people to try out GOG and maybe make the switch from Steam to here.
Doubtful, Steam simply offers a ton more games and the majority of people can't live without their AAA titles.

Marioface5: but a lot of people might stop rebuying games here and just wait for them to show up on GOG Connect.
How many people rebuy their games on another store? It doesn't even make sense to do that, unless (for example) you bought a censored german version on Steam while gog offers it uncut because they don't give a shit about german laws. But otherwise?! There's really no reason to do that so i doubt it will hurt any sales.
I have redeemed Shadowrun Returns from my steam account, but sadly there is no Deluxe version available in GoG library.. I can still download soundtrack + awesome .pdf from steam with download_depot 234650 237810 command but wouldn't be great have it here as well?
Hey guys!

Good to see such an overwhelming response to GOG Connect :)

Unfortunately, that also means overwhelming traffic, so if you're experiencing issues, please hang tight and keep checking back for the queue to clear up.
Please, consider people with multiple accounts.

I don't care with the permanent link. You could even go as far as delete the game from the steam accounts. But I won't link a single account.
Madly refreshing every couple of seconds for the past hour now. No luck so far...

Can someone please gift me a sale copy of Unreal Tournament 2004 so I can hit that up while I wait?

yogsloth: I admit I don't understand this.

So I can buy games on Steam for eight cents and then redeem them on GOG? For no revenue to GOG? I get the game has to be on GOG to begin with - and part of this program - but every week there are games on Humble promos at three-for-a-dollar for steam keys. I can use a steam account, redeem those keys, and then port them to DRM-free versions on GOG?
Yes, basically. Also, since we don't know which games will be considered for this program, you may hoard a ton of Steam games and never get their GOG version.
I have to say, I was hoping for something a lot less... steamy. Ah well, at least it's harmless.
This is nice ! really really nice ! good going GOG. But it seems there are certain issues that need to be addressed. But for now let just try it,

Well, time to use my spare Steam keys :D
Holy crap! This is incredible. Thank you guys so much for this.

Games censored in Germany are usually also censored here on GOG (at least the German version of the game). And yes, there is sense in rebuying, because it may be a game which GOG diid not offer before and rebuying it on GOG would give a DRM free version of the game.
