Connect your Steam account and grow or jumpstart your GOG.com library.

UPDATE: Last chance to grab your games from the original list! Make sure to get them until June 8, 12:59 PM UTC.

Want more games? We've got more games! Three new titles are now available through GOG Connect:

- Kona
- Defender's Quest
- Door Kickers

You can get them until June 13, 1:59 PM UTC.

Today, we're launching a new program called GOG Connect. The premise is simple: connect your Steam account and add your eligible games to your GOG.com library.

Whether you're checking us out for the first time or have been with us for a while, GOG Connect gets you DRM-free versions of your games, digital extras, and a whole lot of freedom of choice (like whether you go with the GOG Galaxy client or not). It gets you our take on game ownership, and we say: why buy the games more than once?

Thanks to our awesome partners including Deep Silver, Harebrained Schemes, Jonathan Blow's Number None, TaleWorlds and more, you can now add more than 20 games to your GOG.com library if you previously purchased them on Steam.

The full list of games will always be available on connect.gog.com, starting with these and more:

- The Witness
- FTL: Faster Than Light
- The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
- Galactic Civilizations 3
- Trine Enchanted Edition
- Saints Row 2
- Shadowrun Returns
- The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

While GOG Connect will stick around, the available games will come and go. These are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned as we bring new titles onboard in the future (and grab your copies before they go away)!

For a bit more library-building, a bunch of our favorite titles will also be discounted up to -85% all week long, including The Witness, Saints Row: The Third, System Shock 2 and more. You can check out all the deals here. The sale will last until June 6, 12:59 PM UTC.

I cannot believe that this was a limited time offer. Its absolutely INFURIATING.

Offering the games for a limited time only makes ZERO SENSE from a customer experience perspective.

I'm literally furious with CD Project. I've never been so disappointed in GOG.

It makes perfect sense. Gets people who wouldn't use gog normally able to transfer and get some of the games here.

Emachine9643: does steam offer the same service?
avatar
Pardinuz: Nope.
Uh, actually they do, in a way. Every publisher who sells their game on Steam is allowed to make unlimited keys to give/sell, including giving them to owners of their game elsewhere. There's plenty of developers who will give you a Steam key for their game if you can prove ownership, or actually a lot of games do it for their past customers when it arrives on Steam, often by creating a system that hands out keys for the game to owners of the game on their site for instance.

The big difference is that there is no automated system to give a copy on Steam for people who own it on GOG for instance, but then, the only reason GOG can do it the way they''re doing it now is because of Steam's OpenAPI which GOG can use to verify ownership of the game on Steam.

While this was certainly disappointing I'm sure this was a compromise they had to make to even make it happen (with the publishers)

So without going through all of this topic am I to assume Connect is dead in the water ??

Nope, just that there's nothing yet on here. Wait until something on the news page mentions connect.

Thanks for the Info.
This appears to be DOA to me. I got a few games transferred in the first batch. No notices from GOG about future ones, no links on the home page anymore.
Didn't GOG tweet about something related to Connect something like 2 week ago?
I think this project is dead like the CD key redemption thing at this point.

I think the main problem here is that people don't read info about specific topics they are interested in. :P

People can't even read the first post and you expect us to find info offsite?

Well if there were any updates at all, they would have been posted on the very front page.

I read the first post, of course, but I don't know how can I know about the reddit thing honestly.

If you read every topic (or most) regarding GOG Connect you would eventually bump into that Reddit link or other links related that GOG Connect project is still alive.

Eh but I don't read every topic regarding Connect, just this one and not even entirely.

Exactly. When Connect returns, GOG will post something and this thread will be bumped. It might be tomorrow, it might be six months from now, it might be never.

Every post in this thread since June 13th has been unnecessary. Especially mine, but I like talking to walls.
