UPDATE: Last chance to grab your games from the original list! Make sure to get them until June 8, 12:59 PM UTC.

Want more games? We've got more games! Three new titles are now available through GOG Connect:

- Kona
- Defender's Quest
- Door Kickers

You can get them until June 13, 1:59 PM UTC.

Today, we're launching a new program called <span class="bold">GOG Connect</span>. The premise is simple: connect your Steam account and add your eligible games to your GOG.com library.

Whether you're checking us out for the first time or have been with us for a while, <span class="bold">GOG Connect</span> gets you DRM-free versions of your games, digital extras, and a whole lot of freedom of choice (like whether you go with the GOG Galaxy client or not). It gets you our take on game ownership, and we say: why buy the games more than once?

Thanks to our awesome partners including Deep Silver, Harebrained Schemes, Jonathan Blow's Number None, TaleWorlds and more, you can now add more than 20 games to your GOG.com library if you previously purchased them on Steam.

The full list of games will always be available on connect.gog.com, starting with these and more:

- The Witness
- FTL: Faster Than Light
- The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
- Galactic Civilizations 3
- Trine Enchanted Edition
- Saints Row 2
- Shadowrun Returns
- The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

While <span class="bold">GOG Connect</span> will stick around, the available games will come and go. These are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned as we bring new titles onboard in the future (and grab your copies before they go away)!

For a bit more library-building, a bunch of our favorite titles will also be discounted up to -85% all week long, including The Witness, Saints Row: The Third, System Shock 2 and more. You can check out all the deals here. The sale will last until June 6, 12:59 PM UTC.
I have this message : SORRY, WE ENCOUNTERED AN UNEXPECTED ERROR DUE TO HIGH TRAFFIC more than 10 hours :-/
So, if I'm not mistaken this is not a permanent feature of GOG? I expected to connect my Steam account to GOG and then the wishlist and some (hopefully all) games that are also available on GOG would show up in GOG Galaxy.
I did the connect, but out of my 500 games NONE were added.
What's with the 'time limited' non-sense? I was planning on migrating to GOG but now that none of my games are in GOG Galaxy I no longer am. I'm not going to start at 0 with Galaxy... missed opportunity!

Select games are available through GOG Connect for only a limited period of time, after which they can no longer be redeemed through the program. New games are made eligible periodically as GOG works out new agreements with their publishers (since this is a deal primarily involving the individual game publishers, not Valve).

It's more like a periodically updating promotion than a one-time migration of your Steam library onto GOG. I don't think it'll ever grow to the scale that you could link all your games through GOG Connect, since there are some publishers who I suspect would never agree to this.

Sinistrall: Edit edit: I saw that after doing a time conversion, HunchBluntley (and who even uses UTC? why not just give the end date in all timezones?).
The whole point with the Coordinated Universal Time is that you don't have to give the time in all 24 timezones!
(plus whatever Daylight Saving Time the various countries might, or might not observe).

Kobalobasileus: I've been hoping GOG would add a feature like this for a couple years now. You guys are awesome for following through on such a consumer friendly idea.

I have a suggestion for how to make the implementation even better from a user perspective. You need to add a tiny Steam icon to games in the store that Connect users own on Steam. Even if we don't own the game in question on both platforms, being able to tell at a glance that we own it on any platform would be incredibly useful.

Basically, I'm thinking of something that works in conjunction with the Owned icon you already have. So any game on GOG would have four potential statuses: Owned (on GOG), Owned (on GOG and Steam), Steam (owned on Steam), and Un-Owned.
You would have to separate the Connect-eligible games from the others.
Then GoG might not necessarily want to remind you that you already own the game on another platform, so you don't have to buy it here?

"SORRY, WE ENCOUNTERED AN UNEXPECTED ERROR DUE TO HIGH TRAFFIC
Please return to this page and try again in a few hours."

Ok, that does it - I start filling the tech support box.

But then, tags like that being checked automatically, could save someone frustration if they connected properly, see the eligible games, but for any reason are not able to redeem them.

Is Dreamfall Chapter planned for GOG Connect release?
I pre-ordered it on Steam, I would take a DRM free copy with joy, maybe with Dreamfall and Longest journey too, since I own both on Steam too.

I know, but I already bought what I wanted (Technobabylon) and I don't need anything else, so I won't ever reach that amount of exp.
Same for Gabriel Knight, I own it on Steam too.
So I did this connect thing a week ago and it matched The Witcher and Unreal Gold from my Steam account. But now when I check my gog library those games aren't there.
Anybody else have this happen??

After *matching*, did you click the button to *add* them to your library?

Hmm.... hard to say.... possibly not since they're not in my library. I got no prompt to do so so I thought that was the end of the process.
Annoying.

I cannot get anything to work, was hoping to get DRM free copy of my steam two worlds 2, no joy plus others like SR2/TRINE etc

Well at the moment it appears there are only 3 games available to match to your Steam account instead on the 20 from a couple days ago. With the summer sale gog benefits more from selling you another copy then giving it to you.
now i can connect my steam to gog, yesterday ends some game as saint rows 2 and shadowrun returns whci i already missed due to connection problems :-/

By the way, you can still add The Witcher to your GOG account through the 'backup' program. Check out:

https://www.gog.com/witcher/backup

Just paste in the product code from steam. This is for both TW1 and TW2.
